The most exciting game of round 12 in the NBL took place in Decin. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked BK Decin (6-4) to eighth ranked Levice (5-6) 80-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Decin. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 24-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Levice made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Robert Nuber (188-83) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and Canadian forward Troy Gottselig (203-87) who added 15 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Levice's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) with 16 points and 9 assists. Levice maintains eighth position with 5-6 record. BK Decin at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with BK Pardubice. Levice are looking forward to face Basketbal Svitavy (#11) at home in the next round. BK Decin will play against B&W Opava (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
NBL top team - CEZ Nymburk (11-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Levharti Chomutov (3-8) 116-52. The winners were led by international power forward Pavel Houska (203-84) who scored that evening 19 points and Tomas Pomikalek supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds by American forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Levharti Chomutov. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated CEZ Nymburk have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-0 record. Levharti Chomutov at the other side dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with B&W Opava and Svitavy. CEZ Nymburk will play against BC Kolin (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Levharti Chomutov will play against USK Praha (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: B&W Opava destroyed Usti n/Labem on the opponent's court 84-65. Bottom-ranked J.Hradec unfortunately lost to BK Pardubice in a home game 61-79. BK Prostejov managed to beat USK Praha on the road 86-75. Svitavy was defeated by BC Kolin on its own court 70-76. BK Pardubice beat Chomutov in a road game 80-76.

Usti n/Labem - B&W Opava 65-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked BK Usti nad Labem (3-9) was crushed at home by twelfth ranked B&W Opava (3-8) 84-65. The game was mostly controlled by B&W Opava. BK Usti nad Labem was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. B&W Opava had a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. The winners were led by the former international guard Ladislav Sokolovsky (200-77) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four B&W Opava players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for BK Usti nad Labem. The former international forward Stefan Licartovsky (196-84) added 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. B&W Opava moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chomutov and Svitavy. BK Usti nad Labem at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. B&W Opava will play against higher ranked BK Decin (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BK Usti nad Labem will have a break next round.
