Here is the weekly review of the top performing Czech Republic players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Spain). Satoransky led Cajasol to a surprising victory over the third-ranked Gescrap BB (8-3) 79-76 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Satoransky scored 18 points and added 3 assists. Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla (2-9) is placed 15th in the ACB. It was his team's first victory after six consecutive loses. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Satoransky is currently seventh on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.4ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.8apg, 2FGP: 50.6%, 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 75.6%. Satoransky is currently a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard David Jelinek (194-90, currently plays in Turkey). Jelinek was the major contributor in an Olin Edirne's victory against the closely-ranked Erdemir (3-6) 91-82 in the Turkish TBL in Saturday night's game. He scored 18 points (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Olin Edirne Basketball (3-6) is placed tenth in the TBL. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Jelinek has relatively good stats this year: 14.7ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.8apg, 3FGP: 34.9% and FT: 85.7%. He is in the roster of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international center Ondrej Starosta (215-79, currently plays in Spain). Starosta led Planasa NV to a victory against the fourth-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (6-4) 78-76 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 12 rebounds. Starosta also added 5 blocks in 39 minutes. Planasa Navarra (4-6) is placed tenth in the LEB Gold. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. Starosta is the league's best rebounder and also on the list of best blockers (third place). This year he has very good stats: 14.0ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 53.2% in the 10 games he played so far. Starosta played for the Czech Republic national team four years ago.

   #4. Center Ales Chan (216-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Seton Hill, currently plays in Cyprus), who plays in the Cypriot Division A could not help Apoel (4-3) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Apoel was edged in a double overtime (!!!) 85-84 at home by the one of league's weakest teams AEL (#7). Chan was the top scorer with 15 points. He also added 8 rebounds, 4 assists and made 2 blocks. This season Chan averages: 6.9ppg and 3.9rpg. He used to play for the Czech Republic national team back in 2010.

   #5. International center Ondrej Balvin (216-92, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Tomas Satoransky. But that was another game of his team in Eurocup which we would like to mention. Balvin was not able to help the league outsider one of league's weakest teams Cajasol (2-3) in their game against Banco di Sardegna Sassari (2-3). He scored only 4 points in 4 minutes on the court. Cajasol lost 76-85 on their home court in Sevilla to the second-ranked Banco di Sardegna Sassari. This year Balvin's overall stats are: 3.0ppg and 2.5rpg in the four games. He plays currently for the Czech Republic national team.

   #6. Center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) managed to help B.C. River Andorra to win against the seventh-ranked CB Clavijo (5-5) 79-74 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Sunday night. Hampl recorded only 2 points. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. It's Hampl's first season with the team. Hampl is currently fifth on the league's list of best blockers. His total stats this season are: 7.8ppg and 4.4rpg. Hampl is an international player who is currently on the senior Czech Republic National Team roster.

The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams:

   #1. Robert Skibniewski (183-PG-83, currently plays in Poland) led AZS Koszalin to a 2-point victory over the seventh-ranked Anwil (6-5) 66-64 in the Polish TBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Skibniewski scored 15 points in 32 minutes. AZS Koszalin (8-3) is placed second in the TBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Skibniewski is ranked seventh on the list of the best passers in the league with 4.7apg. He also averaged so far 8.7ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.1spg in the 11 games he played so far.

   #2. David Steffel (212-C/F-85, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Division A could not help Rovinari (7-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Rovinari lost 71-82 at home to the higher-ranked (#7) Craiova. Steffel had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 37 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Steffel is currently first on the league's list of best rebounders with 10.5rpg. This year his other stats are: 15.5ppg, 1.7apg and 1.3spg in the 12 games.

   #3. Michal Kremen (200-G/F-81, currently plays in Cyprus), who plays in the Cypriot Division A was not able to help Apoel (4-3) in their last game. Despite Kremen's good performance Apoel was edged in a double overtime (!!!) 85-84 on their home court in Nicosia by the one of league's weakest teams (#7) AEL. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 26 minutes. This year Kremen's overall stats are: 7.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.3apg and 1.4spg in the seven games.

   #4. Jan Kratochvil (200-F-82, currently plays in Slovakia) led Komarno to a 3-point victory against one of league's weakest teams SKP Banska Bystrica (4-9) 83-80 in the Slovakian Extraliga last Wednesday. He scored 11 points. MBK Rieker Komarno (11-2) is placed first in the Extraliga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Kratochvil's overall stats this season are: 6.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.3apg.

   #5. Pavel Englicky (210-F/C-83, currently plays in EuroChallenge) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Etha (0-6) in their game against Tofas (4-2) in the EuroChallenge. He scored 6 points in 16 minutes. The fourth-placed Etha was crushed 87-54 on the road by the second-ranked Tofas in the group A of EuroChallenge. So far Etha lost all six games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended in the EuroChallenge. This year Englicky's overall stats are: 3.2ppg and 2.5rpg in the six games.

   #6. Ivo Hoger (225-C-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Georgia) contributed to Olimpi's victory against the closely-ranked MIA 71-62 in a derby game in the Georgian Superleague in Saturday night's game. He scored 6 points. Hoger's overall stats this season are: 4.4ppg and 2.0rpg.

   #7. Tomas Bruha (213-C-88, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Tulane University in a victory against the Nicholls State University 65-48 in the NCAA in Tuesday night's game. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 10 minutes. This year Bruha's total stats are: 7.8ppg and 4.4rpg in the 10 games.

Ladislav Pecka claims Czech Republic NBL weekly honour - 1 day ago

Ladislav Pecka (197-F-91) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Usti n/Labem and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 8. The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat MMCITE Brno (#11, 1-7) 83-77. Usti n/Labem maintains the 6th position in Czech Republic NBL. Vaclav Honomichl claims Czech Republic 1Liga weekly honour - 1 day ago

Vaclav Honomichl (186-PG-92) had a great game in the last round for Loko Plzen and that's him to receive a 1Liga Player of the Week award for round 4. The 24-year old playmaker had the game-high 27 points adding eight rebounds and nine assists for Loko Plzen in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Sokol Pisek (#10, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 94-91.
