The game between third ranked BK Prostejov (10-7) and ninth ranked Levice (7-9) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. BK Prostejov was defeated by Levice in Levice 96-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Prostejov. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) chipped in 25 points. American forward Austin Dufault (205-90, college: Colorado) produced 19 points for the guests. Levice moved-up to seventh place. BK Prostejov at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with BC Kolin. Levice are looking forward to face Levharti Chomutov (#8) on the road in the next round. BK Prostejov will play against B&W Opava (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ostrava. Leader CEZ Nymburk faced second-ranked NH Ostrava. Guests from Nymburk (16-0) smashed host NH Ostrava (13-4) 90-58. Slovakian power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Jiri Welsch contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. CEZ Nymburk's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Jan Stehlik (184-86) answered with 16 points for NH Ostrava. Undefeated CEZ Nymburk have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-0 record. NH Ostrava at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. CEZ Nymburk will play against bottom-ranked BK Usti nad Labem (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. NH Ostrava will play against USK Praha (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Opava was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked BK Pardubice (10-6) played at the court of 8th ranked B&W Opava (6-10). BK Pardubice defeated B&W Opava 90-78 on Tuesday. Corey Muirhead stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jakub Blazek responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for BK Pardubice. They moved-up to third place. Loser B&W Opava dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. BK Pardubice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. B&W Opava will play against BK Prostejov (#4) and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in J.Hradec, where 9th ranked USK Praha (6-11) lost to twelfth ranked BK Lions Hradec (5-11) in a road game 73-85. Roman Zachrla nailed 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. BK Lions Hradec's coach Karel Forejt allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for BK Lions Hradec. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Svitavy. USK Praha lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. BK Lions Hradec's next round opponent will be Basketbal Svitavy (#11) on the road.

In the last two games of round 17 BC Kolin defeated Usti n/Labem in a road game 80-68. BK Decin smashed Chomutov at home 88-58.


J.Hradec - USK Praha 85-73

We should mention about the upset which took place in J.Hradec, where 9th ranked USK Praha (6-11) lost to twelfth ranked BK Lions Hradec (5-11) in a road game 73-85. The game was mostly controlled by BK Lions Hradec. USK Praha was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BK Lions Hradec made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by USK Praha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Roman Zachrla (200-87) nailed 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and center Jan Tomanec (205-85) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. BK Lions Hradec's coach Karel Forejt allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Viktor Cvek (200-89) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Michal Vocetka (198-89) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for USK Praha in the defeat. Four USK Praha players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for BK Lions Hradec. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Svitavy. There was no surprise when 13th ranked BK Usti nad Labem (3-13) was defeated at home by fifth ranked BC Kolin (10-7) 80-68. The game was mostly controlled by BC Kolin. BK Usti nad Labem was better in third quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Kolin made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by BK Usti nad Labem helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
