Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Czechs who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Jan Vesely (211-90, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to an easy victory against the Orlando Magic (13-24) crushing them 120-91 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Vesely scored 10 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 25 minutes on the court. The Washington Wizards have not so impressive 7-28 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Vesely averages: 2.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 2FGP: 50.7% and FT: 22.2% in the 27 games he played so far. He played for the Czech Republic senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international center Ondrej Starosta (215-79, currently plays in Spain). Starosta led Planasa NV to a victory over the closely-ranked Leyma Basquet (6-8) 74-70 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Starosta scored 26 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Planasa Navarra (7-7) is placed sixth in the LEB Gold. Starosta is ranked fifth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Starosta averages: 15.5ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 58.1%(93-160) and FT: 44.3%. He played for the Czech Republic national team in 2008.

   #3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Spain). Satoransky contributed to Cajasol's victory against the tenth-ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-9) 81-70 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He scored 8 points and added 6 assists. Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla (6-11) is placed 15th in the ACB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Satoransky is currently fifth on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 11.8ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.9apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 47.7%, 3FGP: 29.7% and FT: 75.4%. Satoransky is also a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #4. Shooting guard Pavel Pumprla (198-86, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB could not help Blusens Monbus (9-8) to beat FIATC Joventut (8-9). He scored 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes. Blusens Monbus was edged 89-87 on the road by the lower-ranked (#11) FIATC Joventut. This year Pumprla's overall stats are: 6.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.1spg in the 17 games. He is also Czech Republic national team player.

   #5. International shooting guard David Jelinek (194-90, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TBL was not able to help Olin Edirne (3-12) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Jelinek's good performance Olin Edirne was crushed 98-61 in Istanbul by the second-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker. He was the top scorer with 14 points. Jelinek also added 4 rebounds. Jelinek has relatively good stats this season: 12.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.7apg. He plays currently for the Czech Republic national team.

   #6. Center Ondrej Balvin (216-92, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Tomas Satoransky and both played together in the last Spanish ACB game. Balvin contributed to Cajasol's victory against the tenth-ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-9) 81-70. He scored 7 points in only 11 minutes. This year Balvin's total stats are: 2.5ppg and 1.8rpg in the 13 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Czech Republic National Team roster.

   #7. International center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against the ninth-ranked Lobe Huesca (6-8) 80-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 8 points. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. It's Hampl's first season with the team. Hampl has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 3.9rpg. He is also Czech Republic national team player.

Center Ales Chan (216-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Seton Hill, currently plays in Cyprus) was not able to secure a victory for Apoel (2-6) in their game against AEL (5-8) in the Cypriot Division A. Chan recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. Apoel was edged 67-64 in Limassol by the lower-ranked (#6) AEL. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Chan has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 4.3rpg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Czech Republic national team back in 2010.

U18 international small forward Jan Svandrlik (196-94, currently plays in Spain) managed to help CB Clinicas Rincon in a victory against the ninth-ranked Palma (4-8) 66-61 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 12 minutes. CB Clinicas Rincon (8-4) is placed third in the LEB Silver. Svandrlik has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 1.7rpg in the 11 games. He is also in the roster of the Czech Republic U18 national team.

Center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, agency: Two Points, college: Iowa St., currently plays in Italy) helped Umana Venezia edge the league leader Cimberio Varese (13-2) 87-85 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. Hubalek scored only 2 points. Umana Reyer Venezia (7-8) is placed ninth in the SerieA. This season Hubalek averages just 1.0ppg. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Czech Republic senior national team.


The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams:

   #1. Robert Skibniewski (183-PG-83, currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish TBL could not help AZS Koszalin (9-7) to beat Polpharma (7-9). Skibniewski recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 23 minutes. AZS Koszalin was crushed 96-73 on the road by the lower-ranked (#8) Polpharma. It's Skibniewski's first season with the team. Skibniewski belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #7 with 4.1apg. This year his other stats are: 8.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.2spg in the 16 games he played so far.

   #2. David Steffel (212-C/F-85, currently plays in Romania) was the major contributor in Rovinari's victory against the 14th-ranked Miercurea Ciuc (3-14) crushing them 89-67 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday. Steffel scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (9-8) is placed ninth in the Liga Nationala. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Steffel is currently first on the list of best rebounders. This season he has very good stats: 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg and 1.5apg.

   #3. Jan Kratochvil (200-F-82, currently plays in Slovakia) led Komarno to a victory against the closely-ranked Nitra (13-8) 76-67 in the Slovakian Extraliga on Wednesday night. Kratochvil recorded 11 points in a mere 16 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. MBK Rieker Komarno (15-5) is placed first in the Extraliga. Kratochvil has averaged so far 6.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg in the 19 games.

   #4. Michal Kremen (200-G/F-81, currently plays in Cyprus) was not able to help Apoel (2-6) in their game against AEL (5-8) in the Cypriot Division A. Kremen recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Apoel was edged 67-64 in Limassol by the lower-ranked AEL (#6). His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Kremen has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg.

   #5. Pavel Englicky (210-F/C-83, currently plays in Cyprus) managed to help Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia in a victory against the closely-ranked AEL (5-8) 86-71 in the Cypriot Division A on Wednesday night. Englicky scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia (9-4) is placed third in the Division A. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. Englicky has averaged so far 0.7ppg and 1.1rpg in the seven games.

   #6. Tomas Bruha (213-C-88, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the Tulane in their game against the The Univ.of Texas at El Paso in the NCAA. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Bruha scored only 1 points. His team was defeated 66-57. Bruha has averaged so far 0.7ppg and 1.1rpg.

Edi Sinadinovic (193-88, agency: Aspire Sports), recorder in assists in two leagues (Estonia and Bosnia&Herzegovina) and one of the best point guards in Czech NBL leaves the team because of financial problems. He played very good season with very good percentage shooting from the field. In 16 games in Czech Republic he had 12.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.1apg this season. 24-year old guard Bryon Allen (193-G-92) had a great game in the last round for league's best team CEZ Nymburk and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19. He had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds and four assists for CEZ Nymburk in his team's victory, helping them to crush NH Ostrava (#12, 4-15) with 21-point margin 104-83. Nymburk - Monaco 76:66 Nymburk celebrated the 9th victory in Basketball Champions League Group A. They upended group's leaders Monaco to gain 9-4 record. Five players scored in double digits for the Czech champions. Nymburk rallied to an 18:13 lead at the first break. The hosts maintained the lead throughout the second quarter.
