The game between third ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (17-4) and tenth ranked Aldast Strakonice (6-15) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Sokol Hradec Kralove was edged by Aldast Strakonice in a tough game in Strakonice 73-75. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Sokol Hradec Kralove. Sokol Hradec Kralove was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Aldast Strakonice made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Sokol Hradec Kralove helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Katerina Krizova (186-80) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Brittney Thomas (179-89, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Katerina Zavazalova (172-90) with 18 points and 5 assists. Aldast Strakonice maintains tenth place with 6-15 record. Sokol Hradec Kralove at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Aldast Strakonice are looking forward to face bottom-ranked BK Pliska Studanka (#12) in Pardubice in the next round. Sokol Hradec Kralove will play at home against the league's leader USK Praha (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Valosun Brno. Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87) nailed 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Rebekkah Brunson accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. USK Praha's coach Natalia Hejkova felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Eva Mrhalkova (175-88) came up with 14 points for Valosun Brno in the defeat. USK Praha have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-1 record. Valosun Brno at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with VS Praha. USK Praha will play against Sokol Hradec Kralove (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Valosun Brno will play against the league's second-placed IMOS Brno and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game took place in Karlin where 4th placed Kara Trutnov (11-10) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked DSK Karlin (4-17) 85-79 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Melissa D'Amico who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. DSK Karlin's coach Daniel Kurucz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Ambrosia Anderson who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. DSK Karlin maintains eleventh place with 4-17 record. Kara Trutnov lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with VSE Praha. DSK Karlin will meet higher ranked VS Praha (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kara Trutnov will play against VSE Praha where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 21: bottom-ranked Pardubice lost to Lokomotiva on the opponent's court 52-56. VSE Praha managed to outperform Slovanka MB in a home game 86-69. VS Praha recorded a loss to IMOS Brno on the road 87-73.


Lokomotiva - Pardubice 56-52

Rather expected game when 12th ranked BK Pliska Studanka (2-19) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (8-13) 56-52 on Sunday. BK Pliska Studanka was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-9 charge of Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 BK Pliska Studanka turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Lauren Bell (172-90, college: Pepperdine) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Dana Kuslitova (182-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Hana Kramperova (176-85) who recorded 17 points and guard Aneta Pulpanova (178-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary moved-up to eighth place. BK Pliska Studanka lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary will meet Basket Slovanka MB (#9) in the next round. BK Pliska Studanka will play against Aldast Strakonice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
