We bring you last week's top performances from Czechs who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Ondrej Balvin (216-92, currently plays in Eurocup), who plays in Spain. He could not help the league outsider Cajasol (0-5) to beat Stelmet ZG (2-3). Balvin scored 8 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 26 minutes on the court. The fourth-placed Cajasol lost 81-85 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Stelmet ZG in the group K of Eurocup. So far Cajasol lost all five games in the Top 16. His team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical. Balvin is currently second on the league's list of best blockers with 1.3bpg. He also averaged so far 4.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 54.8% and FT: 52.6% in the 10 games he played so far. Balvin is currently a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

Second place goes to an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ondrej Balvin and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Satoransky. He was not able to help the league outsider Cajasol (0-5) in their game against Stelmet ZG (2-3). Satoransky scored 6 points. Cajasol (#4) was defeated 85-81 on their home court in Sevilla by the higher-ranked Stelmet ZG (#3) in the group K of Eurocup. Satoransky has relatively good stats this season: 10.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.7apg, 2FGP: 45.7%, 3FGP: 31.6% and FT: 79.2%. He is in the roster of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international small forward Lubos Barton (202-80, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in Germany). Barton contributed to a New Yorker Phantoms' surprising victory against the tenth-ranked TBB Trier (10-11) 84-81 in the German BBL on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 23 minutes. New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig (7-14) is placed 16th in the BBL. They ended the series of six consecutive loses. This year Barton averages: 7.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 3FGP: 36.4% in the three games. Ex-USK Praha player is also a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #4. Center Ondrej Starosta (215-79, currently plays in Spain) helped Planasa NV win their game against the 11th-ranked Caceres Basket (7-10) 71-67 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 6 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Planasa Navarra (8-9) is placed sixth in the LEB Gold. Starosta is currently fourth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Starosta averages: 15.6ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1bpg. He used to play for the Czech Republic national team back in 2008.

   #5. Former international forward Jan Vesely (211-90, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Washington Wizards in a victory against the Brooklyn Nets (30-22) 89-74 in the NBA last Friday. Vesely recorded only 2 points in 1 minutes on the court. The Washington Wizards have rather weak 15-35 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Vesely's overall stats are: 2.7ppg and 2.5rpg in the 33 games. He used to play for the Czech Republic national team three years ago.

Center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) helped River Andorra win their game against the league outsider Melilla Baloncesto (4-13) 79-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 7 points in only 12 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. This year Hampl's total stats are: 7.6ppg and 3.8rpg in the 17 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Czech Republic National Team roster.

U18 international small forward Jan Svandrlik (196-94, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Clinicas Rincon (9-6) in their game against Aurteneche Maquinaria Euskadi (8-7) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Svandrlik recorded 5 points in 6 minutes. Clinicas Rincon lost 75-83 on the road to the lower-ranked (#6) Aurteneche Maquinaria Euskadi. Svandrlik has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 1.6rpg in the 14 games. He is also Czech Republic U18 national team player.


The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams:

   #1. Jaroslav Tyrna (207-F/C-86, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) could not help USC Leipzig (3-18) to beat BG Karlsruhe (2-0). Tyrna scored 9 points, had 10 rebounds and made 2 blocks. But the bottom-ranked USC Leipzig was defeated 80-73 on the road by the second-ranked BG Karlsruhe. It was USC Leipzig's tenth consecutive loss in a row. Tyrna's total stats this season are: 4.9ppg and 5.4rpg.

   #2. David Steffel (212-C/F-85, currently plays in Romania) managed to help CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu to win against the 13th-ranked Timba Timosoara (5-16) crushing them 102-78 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Saturday. Steffel scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu (11-10) is placed ninth in the Liga Nationala. Steffel is currently second on the list of best rebounders. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.2ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.6apg.

   #3. Jan Kratochvil (200-F-82, currently plays in Slovakia) contributed to Komarno's victory against the fifth-ranked Prievidza (11-12) 95-87 in the Slovakian Extraliga in Saturday night's game. Kratochvil scored only 2 points. MBK Rieker Komarno (18-5) is placed first in the Extraliga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Kratochvil has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 3.3rpg.

   #4. Jaromir Fohler (211-C-85, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Lan Mobel ISB's victory against the closely-ranked Oviedo CB (10-4) 84-80 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 7 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lan Mobel Iraurgi Saski Baloia (1-0) is placed in the LEB Silver. It's Fohler's first season with the team. Fohler has averaged so far 1.3ppg and 1.7rpg in the 14 games he played so far.

24-year old guard Bryon Allen (193-G-92) had a great game in the last round for league's best team CEZ Nymburk and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19. He had the game-high 28 points adding six rebounds and four assists for CEZ Nymburk in his team's victory, helping them to crush NH Ostrava (#12, 4-15) with 21-point margin 104-83. Nymburk - Monaco 76:66 Nymburk celebrated the 9th victory in Basketball Champions League Group A. They upended group's leaders Monaco to gain 9-4 record. Five players scored in double digits for the Czech champions. Nymburk rallied to an 18:13 lead at the first break. The hosts maintained the lead throughout the second quarter.
