   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Eurocup). He was the major contributor in Cajasol's victory against the second-ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (3-3) 68-66 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Satoransky scored 11 points and added 5 passes in 20 minutes on the court. Cajasol Banca Civica Sevilla (1-5) is placed fourth in group K. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. It's Satoransky's first season with the team. Satoransky belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #6 with 4.8apg. He also averaged so far 10.2ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 47.7% and FT: 76.9% in the 12 games he played so far. Satoransky is currently a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

Ondrej Starosta

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international center Ondrej Starosta (215-79, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He could not help Planasa NV (8-11) in their last game on Friday. Despite Starosta's very good performance Planasa NV was defeated 76-70 at home by the higher-ranked FCB Regal II (#6). He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds. Starosta also added 3 assists and 2 blocks. Starosta is currently third on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Starosta averages: 15.3ppg, 9.9rpg, 1.3apg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 58.1%(125-215) and FT: 42.3%. He played for the Czech Republic national team in 2008.

   #3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Ondrej Balvin (216-92, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Tomas Satoransky and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Balvin contributed to a 2-point Cajasol's victory against the second-ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (3-3) 68-66. He scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 29 minutes. Balvin is currently third on the list of best blockers with 1.2bpg. This year his other stats are: 4.8ppg, 3.5rpg and FT: 54.2% in the 11 games. Balvin is also a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.

   #4. Shooting guard Pavel Pumprla (198-86, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Blusens Monbus (10-12) in their game against CB Canarias (9-13) in the Spanish ACB. He recorded 6 points. Blusens Monbus was defeated 84-77 on the road by the lower-ranked CB Canarias (#13). Pumprla's overall stats this season are: 6.9ppg and 2.7rpg. He is also Czech Republic national team player.

International center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against one of league's weakest teams Leyma Basquet (7-12) 71-57 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Sunday. Hampl recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. This year Hampl's overall stats are: 7.5ppg and 4.1rpg in the 19 games. He plays currently for the Czech Republic national team.

   #6. Point guard Radovan Kouril (180-95, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Lucentum Alicante in a victory against the closely-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (10-9) 70-60 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He recorded only 3 points in 6 minutes on the court. Lucentum Alicante (12-7) is placed third in the LEB Gold. This year Kouril averages just 0.4ppg in the eight games. He is U18 international player who is currently on the Czech Republic National Team roster.


The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams:

   #1. David Steffel (212-C/F-85, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala could not help Rovinari (11-12) to beat CS Farul Constanta (4-20). Steffel scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Rovinari was defeated 76-71 at home by the lower-ranked CS Farul Constanta (#14). Steffel is currently third on the list of best rebounders. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.9ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.6apg.

   #2. Jan Kratochvil (200-F-82, currently plays in Slovakia) was not able to help Komarno (19-7) in their game against Nitra (17-10) in the Slovakian Extraliga. Kratochvil scored 7 points in only 12 minutes. Komarno lost 98-111 on the road to the lower-ranked (#3) Nitra. This year Kratochvil's total stats are: 6.0ppg and 3.0rpg in the 25 games he played so far.

   #3. Jaroslav Tyrna (207-F/C-86, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for USC Leipzig (3-20) in their game against BV Chemnitz 99 (18-0) in the German ProA (second division). He scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The bottom-ranked USC Leipzig was badly defeated 88-69 in Chemnitz by the leading BV 99. It was USC Leipzig's 12th consecutive loss in a row. Tyrna's total stats this season are: 5.8ppg and 5.7rpg.

   #4. Jaromir Fohler (211-C-85, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Lan Mobel ISB (1-0) in their game against Castello (6-10) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Fohler cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. his team was edged in an overtime 91-90 in Castellon by the much lower-ranked Castello (#8). There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Fohler's total stats this season are: 1.3ppg and 1.8rpg.

Bohemilk Turi Svitlavy (NBL) signed American center Ethan Jacobs (211-107kg). Jacobs just completed his college career playing for Colgate (NCAA). After beginning his collegiate career at Ohio (NCAA), he transferred and played his final two seasons in the Patriot League. In 32 games he averaged 12.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1bpg last season. Defending champion CEZ Basketball Nymburk (NBL) added to their roster 31-year old Nigerian international power forward Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (206-100kg-85, college: Maryland). He played this summer at Sagesse in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. In 12 games he had very impressive stats: 15.1ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.9apg, 1.5spg and 3.0bpg. Ibekwe helped them to make it to the final. San Isidro San Francisco (TNA) tabbed 33-year old American forward Nate Carter (200-107kg-83, college: Oklahoma). He played most recently at BK Decin in NBL league in Czech Republic. In 19 games he averaged 8.6ppg and 2.9rpg last season. In 2007 Carter was drafted by Oklahoma Storm (USBL) in first round (10th overall).
