There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in 1Liga. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Top ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (13-3) recorded its third loss in Praha on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Sokol Prazky (9-7) 90-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sokol Hradec Kralove. Center Jan Stepanek (190-83) fired 32 points for the winners. point guard Tomas Gavenda (182-96) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Sokol Prazky's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ondrej Peterka (198-91, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Sokol Prazky maintains fourth position in Group A with 9-7 record. Sokol Hradec Kralove at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Sokol Prazky's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Praha to the arena GBA Sparta.
Another exciting game was between sixth ranked BK Loko Plzen and 7th ranked USK Praha B where BK Loko Plzen (7-8) beat USK Praha B (6-9) on the road 69-65. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Vaclav Honomichl (186-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jaroslav Kovanda contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. BK Loko Plzen's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Jan Streba (195-95) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds for USK Praha B. BK Loko Plzen moved-up to fifth place in Group A. USK Praha B lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. BK Loko Plzen will play against Basket Kosice (#6) at home in the next round. USK Praha B will play against Nymburk B and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Olomouc SK (12-4) against sixth ranked Pardubice (7-9) on Friday night. Host Olomouc SK was crushed by Pardubice in Olomouc 105-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Olomouc SK. Worth to mention a great performance of Josef Potocek who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Jan Zlamal responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardubice maintains sixth position in Group B with 7-9 record. Newly promoted Olomouc SK keeps the second place with four games lost. Pardubice will meet at home Ostrava (#9) in the next round. Olomouc SK will play against Havirov (#10) and hope to secure a win.
Leader SKB Zlin delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked BK Prostejov B (6-10) 78-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Prostejov B. The winners were led by Tomas Voslajer who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. BK Prostejov B's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. SKB Zlin have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 15-1 record. Newly promoted BK Prostejov B keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. SKB Zlin's next round opponent will be Novy Jicin (#8) in Novy Jicin and are hoping to win another game. BK Prostejov B will play at home against Sokol Slapanice and hope to win that game.
The game in Novy Jicin was also quite interesting. Third ranked B&W Opava B (11-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Novy Jicin (5-11). B&W Opava B did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 76-59 on Sunday. Rostislav Dragoun fired 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. B&W Opava B maintains third position in Group B with 11-5 record having four points less than leader Zlin. Newly promoted Novy Jicin keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. B&W Opava B will face Olomouc Bbal (#5) on the road in the next round. Novy Jicin will play against the league's leader SKB Zlin and hope to win that game.

Rest of the games of round 16 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Group A Basket Kosice was crushed by Nymburk B in a road game 102-82. Slavoj Litom. beat Vysocina at home 89-72.
In Group B Havirov was destroyed by Sokol Slapanice on the opponent's court 109-76. Ostrava unfortunately lost to Olomouc Bbal in a home game 67-70.

Group A
Nymburk B - Basket Kosice 102-82

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Basket Kosice (7-10) was crushed on the road by third ranked Nymburk B (11-4) 102-82 on Sunday. Nymburk B shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Basket Kosice's players. International center Martin Peterka (205-95) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Matej Svoboda (200-96) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jan Kratochvil (199-82) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Dominik Adasek (190-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Nymburk B and four Basket Kosice players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nymburk B have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group A with 11-4 record having five points less than leader Zlin. Loser Basket Kosice keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Nymburk B will face USK Praha B (#7) at home in the next round. Basket Kosice will play against BK Loko Plzen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Sokol Slapanice looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Havirov's players. Forward Zdenek Sebela (192-87) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Radek Sir (188-91) chipped in 31 points. Very important is a home loss of second ranked Olomouc SK (12-4) against sixth ranked Pardubice (7-9) on Friday night. Host Olomouc SK was crushed by Pardubice in Olomouc 105-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Olomouc SK. Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Olomouc SK's 32. Pardubice forced 29 Olomouc SK turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Josef Potocek (196-96) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Viktor Pulpan (191-96) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Pardubice players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Jan Zlamal (193-91) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Kamil Sin (198-97) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardubice maintains sixth position in Group B with 7-9 record. Newly promoted Olomouc SK keeps the second place with four games lost. Pardubice will meet at home Ostrava (#9) in the next round. Olomouc SK will play against Havirov (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Ostrava - Olomouc Bbal 67-70

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Olomouc Bbal (9-7) edged on the road 9th ranked Ostrava (5-11) 70-67 on Friday. Moldovan forward Evgeni Scripcaru (195-83) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Radek Jurka (192-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Five Olomouc Bbal players scored in double figures. Guard Lukas Bukovjan (185-98) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Michal Palat (194-90) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ostrava's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Olomouc Bbal moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Sokol Slapanice. Ostrava lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Olomouc Bbal will face higher ranked B&W Opava B (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ostrava will play against Pardubice (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
