NBL is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 5 rounds left.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Praha. 4th placed host USK Praha (14-12) lost to first ranked CEZ Nymburk (26-1) 81-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of USK Praha. 24 personal fouls committed by USK Praha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Cuban forward Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) stepped up and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Marek Mares (183-96) responded with 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CEZ Nymburk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place in Places 1-6 with 26-1 record. USK Praha at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. CEZ Nymburk are looking forward to face BK Kolin (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. USK Praha will play against the league's second-placed BK Pardubice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Kolin was also worth to mention about. Third ranked BK Decin (17-11) played at the court of 6th ranked BK Kolin (11-16). BK Decin managed to secure a 8-point victory 81-73. The former international forward Tomas Pomikalek (200-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Tomas Vyoral accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. BK Decin's coach Pavel Budinsky allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Garret Kerr (194-92, college: Univ.Sciences) came up with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for BK Kolin in the defeat. BK Decin maintains third place in Places 1-6 with 17-11 record having eight points less than leader CEZ Nymburk. BK Kolin lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. BK Decin will play against BK Opava (#5) on the road in the next round. BK Kolin will play against the league's leader CEZ Nymburk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Svitavy between MMCITE Brno and Basketbal Svitavy. Tenth ranked MMCITE Brno (10-17) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (11-16). MMCITE Brno managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Basketbal Svitavy. The best player for the winners was Michal Kremen who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Hunter Mickelson produced 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for MMCITE Brno. They moved-up to ninth place in Places 7-12, which they share with NH Ostrava. Loser Basketbal Svitavy keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Usti n/Labem. MMCITE Brno will meet bottom-ranked Prostejov (#12) on the road in the next round. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Usti nad Labem (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 5:
In Places 1-6 BK Opava was destroyed by BK Pardubice on the opponent's court 96-68.
In Places 7-12 Prostejov unfortunately lost to NH Ostrava in a home game 75-85. J.Hradec recorded a loss to Usti n/Labem on the road 78-83.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points and 7 rebounds by Kevin Mays of NH Ostrava.

Places 1-6
BK Pardubice - BK Opava 96-68

Rather expected game when 5th ranked BK Opava (14-13) was crushed on the road by second ranked BK Pardubice (21-5) 96-68 on Saturday. BK Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to BK Opava's 32. BK Pardubice forced 19 BK Opava turnovers and outrebounded them 49-33 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. BK Pardubice looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BK Opava's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Viktor Pulpan (191-96) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Dominez Burnett (196-92, college: Davenport, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. BK Pardubice's coach Levell Sanders felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-87, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 19 points and 4 assists and forward Filip Zbranek (196-89) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Pardubice maintains second place in Places 1-6 with 21-5 record having six points less than leader CEZ Nymburk. Loser BK Opava keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. BK Pardubice will meet USK Praha (#4) on the road in the next round. BK Opava will play against BK Decin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked NH Ostrava (10-17) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Prostejov (8-19) 85-75 on Friday. NH Ostrava forced 22 Prostejov turnovers. Strangely Prostejov outrebounded NH Ostrava 47-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Kevin Mays (193-92, college: CSU Bakersfield) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Center Deshawn Painter (205-90, college: ODU) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four NH Ostrava players scored in double figures. Swingman Torrence Dyck (196-94, college: Daemen, agency: Two Points) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and center Ethan Jacobs (211, college: Colgate) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. NH Ostrava maintains ninth place in Places 7-12 with 10-17 record, which they share with MMCITE Brno. Prostejov lost their eleventh game in a row. Brett Roseboro joined the team at the start of the season. He tallied 10.5 points, 5.9 rebounds per game in the Czech NBL.
