  follow us on Facebook Twitter

We bring you last week's top performances from Czechs who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Petra Kulichova
Petra Kulichova
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international center Petra Kulichova (198-84, currently plays in Turkey). She was the major contributor in Botas' victory against the closely-ranked Adana ASKI (10-15) 85-78 in the Turkish KBSL in Saturday night's game. Kulichova had a triple-double by scoring 19 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and passing 10 assists in 45 minutes on the court. Botasspor Adana (11-14) is placed ninth in the KBSL. It was her team's first victory after five consecutive loses. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Kulichova averages: 9.0ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.3apg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 60.9%(103-169) and FT: 27.6% in 24 games she played so far. She played for the Czech Republic senior national team three years ago.

Romana Stehlikova
Romana Stehlikova
#2. Second place goes to former international power forward Romana Stehlikova (189-85, currently plays in Slovakia). Stehlikova led Good Angels to a victory over the fourth-ranked Samorin (0-12) crushing them 85-51 in the Slovakian Extraliga last Wednesday. She was MVP of the game. Stehlikova scored 15 points. Good Angels Kosice (11-1) is placed first in Places 1-4 group. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Stehlikova's overall stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.4apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 56.7%(72-127), 3FGP: 36.8% and FT: 70.6%. She played for the Czech Republic national team in 2008.

Michaela Stara
Michaela Stara
#3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Michaela Stara (175-90, currently plays in Greece). Stara could not help Niki Lefkadas (12-9) in their last game. Despite her very good performance Niki Lefkadas was badly defeated 76-60 on the road by the second-ranked Athinaikos. Stara was the top scorer with 17 points. She also added 3 steals in 31 minutes. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. Stara's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Stara has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.1apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 51.4%, 3FGP: 33.7% and FT: 71.4% in 20 games. She played for the Czech Republic national team four years ago.

Romana Hejdova
Romana Hejdova
#4. Swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88, currently plays in France) contributed to a 2-point Hainaut's victory against the fifth-ranked Lattes Montpellier (18-4) 72-70 in the French LFB in Saturday night's game. Hejdova scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Union Saint-Amand Porte du Hainaut (10-12) is placed eighth in Play-Off group. This season Hejdova has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg, 4.3rpg and 2.7apg. She used to play for the Czech Republic national team back in 2015.

Kamila Stepanova
Kamila Stepanova
#5. Former international center Kamila Stepanova (191-88, currently plays in France) managed to help Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole in a victory against the sixth-ranked Mondeville (12-10) 81-68 in the French LFB last Saturday. Stepanova scored only 4 points in 9 minutes on the court. Villeneuve D'Ascq ESB Lille Metropole (16-6) is placed seventh in Play-Off group. It was Villeneuve D'Ascq's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Stepanova's first season with the team. This year her overall stats are: 6.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.3apg in 24 games. Stepanova used to play for the Czech Republic national team two years ago.

Renata Brezinova
Renata Brezinova
#6. Center Renata Brezinova (190-90, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 2-point La Spezia's victory against one of league's weakest teams Battipaglia (4-18) 61-59 in the Italian Serie A1 on Tuesday night. She recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Carispezia La Speziais placed fifth in the Serie A1. Brezinova's total stats this season are: 8.3ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.3spg. She is a former U20 international player as she played for the Czech Republic team seven years ago.

Edita Sujanova
Edita Sujanova
#7. Former international center Edita Sujanova (190-85, currently plays in Turkey) faced previously mentioned Petra Kulichova in the Turkish KBSL last game. Sujanova was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Adana ASKI in their game against Botas (11-14). She cannot count it as her best performance. Sujanova recorded only 2 points and had 3 steals in 12 minutes. Adana ASKI lost 78-85 at home to the higher-ranked (#9) Botas. It was Adana ASKI's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. This year Sujanova's total stats are: 4.4ppg and 3.0rpg in 25 games. She used to play for the Czech Republic national team six years ago.

Tereza Brantlova
Tereza Brantlova
#8. Guard Tereza Brantlova (172-82, currently plays in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for Crusaders (14-0) in their game against Nottingham Wildcats (13-3) in the British WBBL. She cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Brantlova recorded only 3 points in 14 minutes. The league leader Crusaders was crushed 74-52 in Wildcats by the leading Nottingham. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Brantlova has averaged so far 7.1ppg, 1.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg in 13 games. She used to play for the Czech Republic U20 national team back in 2002.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Czech Republic passport:

#1. Katarina Flasarova (171-G-85, currently plays in Germany) managed to help BG 74 Veilchen Ladies Goettingen to win against the fourth-ranked TG Neuss (14-8) 76-69 in the German 2.Bundesliga (second division) last Sunday. Flasarova scored only 4 points. BG 74 Veilchen Ladies Goettingen (19-3) is placed first in North group. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Flasarova has reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.1apg and 1.9spg.
