The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games anded in overtime. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bakken as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bakken defeated 10th ranked Falcon in Aarhus 82-72. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Falcon managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Falcon 51-24 including a 23-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Chris Christoffersen (218-79, college: Oregon) contributed with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Julian McFarlane (184-86) answered with 25 points for Falcon. Bakken (21-1) have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Falcon stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Falcon will play next round against strong Svendborg trying to get back on the winning streak. Bakken will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Vaerlose at home.

In the last game of round 23 Naestved was beaten by Vaerlose on the road 97-89. Aabyhoj won against Horsens IC on its own court 92-89.
The most impressive performance of 23th round was 34 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks by D'Mario Curry of Aabyhoj.


Vaerlose - Naestved 97-89
There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Vaerlose (9-14) beat at home 3rd placed Naestved (14-9) 97-89 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 38-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vaerlose made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. American guard Reginald Delk (193-86, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Mads Rasmussen (191-86) contributed with 32 points for the winners. The former international power forward Peter Johansen (205-80) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Naestved. Four Vaerlose and five Naestved players scored in double figures. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaerlose moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Horsholm. Naestved at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Vaerlose will face league's leader Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Naestved will play on the road against Aalborg.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Horsens IC (8-15) was edged on the road by seventh ranked Aabyhoj (8-15) 92-89 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 28-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aabyhoj made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Horsens IC only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Horsens IC 35-17 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Horsens IC was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). International guard Darko Jukic (199-90) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. American forward Will Harris (198-86, college: Albany) answered with 30 points and Slovenian guard Davor Sattler (185-86, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 23 points and 8 assists in the effort for Horsens IC. Despite that victory Aabyhoj went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Horsens IC. Aabyhoj will face higher ranked SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
