The Regular Season in Dameligaen just ended.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vaerlose. Leader SISU faced 4th placed Vaerlose. Guests from Copenhagen (21-0) defeated host Vaerlose (11-10) 83-71. The game without a history. SISU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. SISU had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Stephanie Madden (185-88, college: Langston) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Tea Jorgensen (177-87) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jaimie McFarlin (180-89, college: Wash.-St.Louis) who recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Vaerlose's coach Jesper Johansen rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated SISU have an impressive series of twenty one victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-0 record. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost.
The game in Aabyhoj supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Horsholm (16-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Aabyhoj (6-15). Horsholm smashed Aabyhoj 60-39. It was a good game for American power forward Lauren Beckley (181-91, college: Shippensburg) who led her team to a victory with 18 points. Mie Burlin contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Courtney Coryea (185) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for Aabyhoj. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Press gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Horsholm. They maintain second place with 16-5 record having five points less than leader SISU. Aabyhoj lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Amager.
The game in Falcon was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Lemvig (7-14) played at the court of 8th ranked Falcon (4-17). Lemvig defeated Falcon 88-74 on Saturday. Emely Hatch stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Elisabeth Hansen with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Falcon's coach Steffen Lund tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lemvig moved-up to fifth place. Falcon lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost.

In the last game of round 21 Amager was defeated by Horsens in a road game 94-76.
The best stats of 21th round was 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Trenice Fuller of Falcon.



Horsens - Amager 94-76

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Amager (6-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Horsens (13-8) 94-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 56-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Brittany Bowen (177-88, college: Butler) stepped up and scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Australian guard Charmaine Furgeson (176-86) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Horsens players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Anna Seilund (174-93) scored 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Amager's coach Martin Kjaersgaard tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Horsens maintains third place with 13-8 record having eight points less than leader SISU. Loser Amager dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Aabyhoj.

Aabyhoj - Horsholm 39-60

The game in Aabyhoj supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Horsholm (16-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Aabyhoj (6-15). Horsholm smashed Aabyhoj 60-39. It looked good early as Aabyhoj took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Horsholm had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Aabyhoj was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 39-60. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aabyhoj to just 3 points in third quarter and to 11 points in second half. It was a good game for American power forward Lauren Beckley (181-91, college: Shippensburg) who led her team to a victory with 18 points. Swingman Mie Burlin (178) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Courtney Coryea (185) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Sophie Kjems-Krognos (177-94) added 6 points in the effort for Aabyhoj. Falcon - Lemvig 74-88

The game in Falcon was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Lemvig (7-14) played at the court of 8th ranked Falcon (4-17). Lemvig defeated Falcon 88-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lemvig. Falcon managed to win second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lemvig shot 25 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Falcon only scored two points from the stripe. Lemvig had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Emely Hatch (-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American center Rebecca Kielpinski (188-89, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American Sarah DeShone put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Lemvig, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The player was the main contributor (34 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat SISU (#6, 2-6) 86-71. Dameligaen Round 8: Virum loses their first game against Amager - 6 days ago

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Virum (7-1) in Kastrup on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Amager (3-3) 59-49. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Virum. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 59-49. Amager forced 21 Virum turnovers.
