Vaerlose - Lemvig 60-76

Lemvig took the lead in the quarterfinal series versus Vaerlose. They celebrated the road win in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Lemvig. Vaerlose was better in third quarter 17-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lemvig forced 21 Vaerlose turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Emely Hatch (-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and FYR Macedonian guard Ivana Udovalieva (174-G-84) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jaimie McFarlin (180-89, college: Wash.-St.Louis) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Julia Houghtaling (-86) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds.

SISU - Falcon 82-48

SISU continued their unbeaten run in the season. They shot down Falcon in the quarterfinal series opener. The game without a history. SISU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Falcon to just 2 points in third quarter. SISU forced 26 Falcon turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Falcon's players. Forward Trine Duelund (180-84) stepped up and scored 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American center Stephanie Madden (185-88, college: Langston) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Horsholm - Aabyhoj 64-53

Horsholm tipped off the series on a high note edging Aabyhoj at home court. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Aabyhoj was better in fourth quarter 24-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm forced 20 Aabyhoj turnovers. American power forward Lauren Beckley (181-91, college: Shippensburg) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Therese Deemand (175-83, college: Binghamton) chipped in 16 points. At the losing side forward Courtney Coryea (185) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and guard Maria Jespersen (179-94) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Press rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Horsens - Amager 60-68

Amager toppled Horsens away from home for the first win. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Horsens won fourth quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center Sussie Kruuse (191-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Ida Klussmann (169-93) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Amager players scored in double figures. Amager's coach Martin Kjaersgaard used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Brittany Bowen (177-88, college: Butler) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Josefine Sorensen (171-87) added 21 points in the effort for Horsens.

Horsholm inks Maryah Sydnor, ex ViVe - 1 month ago

79ers (Dameligaen) agreed terms with 23-year old American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian State). She played most recently at ViVe in Finnish SM-sarja, but left. In three games she had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg last season. She was also voted All-Sun Belt 1st Team in 2015 at her college time. 22-year old American (has also Filipino passport) forward Kelly Hardeman (183-94). She just graduated from Azusa Pacific (NCAA2). Hardeman has played there for the last four years. In 32 games she averaged impressive 17.2ppg, 9.2rpg and 1.3apg last season.
