U18 DENMARK - U18 HUNGARY 43-67

Hungary had no troubles to beat Denmark 67-43 in the last day of the second stage at U18 EuroBasket Division B in Strumica. Hungary finished as the second ranked team of Group E with 2-1 record and advanced to the Semifinals. Their rival will be Belarus. At the other side, Denmark ended this phase as 0-3 and will continue in Classification Round from 5th to 8th place. Fanni Csutoras (181-G/F-94) led the winners with 16 points and 5 assists. Agnes Gorjanacz (182-G/F-94) and Dora Szabo (171-G-95) helped their country with 10 points each. In defeat, Julie Hoeier (185-C-95) was better than the others with double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Marian Sheikh (180-PF-94) and Simone Ceccardi (182-PF-95) scored 9 and 6 points respectively. Hungary took control on its rival from the very beginning and never looked back after that. They were up by 22 at the HT and jumped to plus 29 with ten minutes to go. Both teams will take a rest today.

Dameligaen Round 8: Virum loses their first game against Amager - 9 hours ago

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Virum (7-1) in Kastrup on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Amager (3-3) 59-49. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Virum. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 59-49. Amager forced 21 Virum turnovers. Driscoll's double-double lands her Player of the Week award - 4 days ago

24-year old center Valerie Driscoll (193-C-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Virum and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. She had a double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds, while her team crushed SISU (#6, 2-5) with 20-point margin 79-59. It allowed Virum to consolidate first place in the Danish Dameligaen. The game between third ranked Amager (2-3) and fifth ranked Stevnsgade (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Amager was defeated by Stevnsgade in a tough game in Stevnsgade 67-71. Amager was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game.
