What's up Eurobasket readers?! I'm back, and it has been a while since I have last checked in with you guys.
Just to give you an update on how the season ended in Denmark; We made it to the semi finals, then we loss to the eventual champions in 3 games, the Bakken Bears. Those guys have been running the table in the Danish League for years now, they have great Danish players like Chris Neilsen and N. Iversen, and they always bring in good imports as well. Congrats to those guys for winning another one, Im sure they will have much success this season as well.
As for me, it was a great experience in DK, I met a lot of new people, played against some good competition and I learned a lot about the game through my time there. But we all know that good things must come to an end. Fast forward to the new upcoming season.
I am now in Isreal!! I am playing for Maccabi Kiryat Gat of the National League (2nd division). I must say that it is an honor for me to be here, in a country with such great basketball tradition and amazing competiton. The country is beautiful, the people here are so nice and welcoming as well. I have been here for 1 month and it already feels like home to me.
The season is getting ready to start!! Im very excited to get going, we have 3 preseason games so far and we are 1-2; not great but it takes time for good teams to come together, we have a lot of good players and I am confident in our coach, I think that we will be ok when the season comes. So far, I am averaging 28 points and 7 rebounds in the preseason, pretty good numbers considering I have been working so hard all summer to become a better player. We start cup games and tournament games on Tuesday, Im really looking forward to it. On Oct.9 we play against the champs of last years 2nd division, Hapoel Tel-Aviv, who is now a 1st division team. I can't wait to play against a first division squad, it will be a nice test for our team and a great learning experiences for us all.
That's all for now, I hope you guys follow my season, I plan to pick up right where I left off in the Danish league and continue to rise to higher and higher levels. Hard work pays off! Take a peek into the work I have been putting in this summer. Talk to you guys soon.

Champagnie's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 5 hours ago
26-year old power forward Davie Champagnie (206-F/C-90) had a great game in the last round for Stevnsgade and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24. He had a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Randers (#7, 9-15) 106-92. Stevnsgade maintains the 8th position in Danish league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 21 games and recorded just one victory. Champagnie turned to be Stev...   [read more]

The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Horsens IC (19-3) in Copenhagen on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked SISU (10-13) 91-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Horsens IC. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two qua...   [read more]

Shavon Shields selected the top Danish playing abroad in last week's games - 4 days ago
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Danes who are currently playing abroad. Shavon Shields #1. This week's number one is former international guard Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska, currently plays in Germany). He could not help Deutsche Bank Skyliners (8-13) in their last game. Despite Shields' very good performance Deutsche Bank Skyliners was badly defeated 76-57 on the road by the second-ranked Brose Baskets. He was the top scorer with 1...   [read more]
