An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Falcon. Third ranked Falcon faced 4th placed Vaerlose. Host Falcon (4-1) smashed guests from Vaerlose (2-3) 75-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vaerlose. The game was mostly controlled by Falcon. Vaerlose managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Trenice Fuller (193-C-87, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Sofie Vincents (171-87) chipped in 25 points. Center Rikke Fabricius (183-92) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Falcon moved-up to second place, which they share with Lemvig. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Horsholm and Amager. Falcon is looking forward to face league's leader SISU in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vaerlose will play at home against Amager in Kastrup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American forward Emily Hatch (185-89, college: San Diego) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. Ivana Udovalieva contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Lemvig's coach Thomas Johansen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Maja Gerlyng-Hansen (180-88, college: Siena) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds for Horsholm. Lemvig maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader SISU, which they share with Falcon. Horsholm lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Amager and Vaerlose. Lemvig will play against bottom-ranked Horsens (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Horsholm will play against Aabyhoj (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Aabyhoj can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Horsens (0-5) 61-52 on Saturday. Maria Jespersen stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Press used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rebecca Houmoller responded with 14 points. Aabyhoj maintains seventh place with 1-4 record. It was Horsens' fifth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Aabyhoj will meet higher ranked Horsholm (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsens will play against the league's second-placed Lemvig (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Amager - SISU 56-90

Undefeated leader SISU delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Amager (2-3) 90-56 in Kastrup. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amager. The game without a history. SISU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 30. It was a great shooting night for SISU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. American center Marie Malone (191-89, college: Hofstra) nailed 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Kiki Lund (177-83, college: Dayton) accounted for 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five SISU players scored in double figures. Power forward Lotte Tobiasen (183-91) came up with 16 points and forward Ena Viso (183-93) added 10 points respectively for Amager in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aabyhoj can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Horsens (0-5) 61-52 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-52. Aabyhoj dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Horsens' 26. They outrebounded Horsens 47-17 including a 21-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aabyhoj made 7 blocks. Stevnsgade BBK (Dameligaen) signed 27-year old Norwegian international forward Katrine Fjaerestad (175-90). She has played for the last three seasons at Gimle Pride in Norwegian Kvinneligaen. In 18 games she had 6.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.9spg in 2015-16 season. Fjaerestad helped them to make it to the semifinals. She won Czech Republic D2 championship title in 2011.
