Bottom-ranked Aalborg (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked SISU (5-2) 87-77 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by SISU. Aalborg managed to win third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and the other American import center Zack Moritz (210-88, college: Boise St.) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. SISU's coach Almir Zeco used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Soren Sorensen (196-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. SISU moved-up to third place, which they share with Horsens IC. Aalborg at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. SISU is looking forward to face Aarhus BC (#6) at home in the next round. Aalborg will play against Randers (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Horsholm supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Horsens IC (5-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Horsholm (2-5). Horsens IC smashed Horsholm 96-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Horsholm. The winners were led by international guard Darko Jukic (198-90) who scored that evening 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Skyler Bowlin supported him with 24 points and 6 assists. Even 26 points and 6 rebounds by Hungarian forward Attila Kovacs (203-85) did not help to save the game for Horsholm. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Horsens IC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Bakken, which they share with SISU. Horsholm at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Horsens IC will play against league's leader Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Horsholm will play on the road against the league's second-placed Svendborg (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Naestved was also quite interesting. Top-ranked Svendborg (7-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Naestved (4-4). Svendborg managed to secure a 5-point victory 80-75 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Donald Rutherford who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Caleb Walker produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Svendborg have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bakken. Naestved lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. Svendborg will meet at home Horsholm (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Naestved will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 8 Vaerlose lost to Naestved on the opponent's court 70-75. Vaerlose lost to defending champion Bakken in a home game 69-87.

Naestved - Vaerlose 75-70

Very expected game when 9th ranked Vaerlose (1-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Naestved (4-4) 75-70 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import power forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Richard Delk (193-86, college: Troy) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and Icelandic Axel Karason (194-83) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Vaerlose's coach Thomas Silfen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Naestved maintains fifth position with 4-4 record. Vaerlose lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
