International guard Darko Jukic (198-G-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Horsens IC, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The 22-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Horsholm (#7, 2-5) with 26-point margin 96-70. Horsens IC maintains the 3rd position in Danish Ligaen. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Horsens IC will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Jukic had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Horsens IC's top player in his first season with the team. Darko Jukic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.7ppg), rebounds (7th best: 8.1rpg) and averages impressive 57.8% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Caleb Walker (193-G-89) of Naestved. Walker had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Naestved lost that game 75-80 to league's leader Svendborg (#2, 7-0). Naestved managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Walker is a newcomer at Naestved, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Rasmus Norgaard (205-C/F-90) of Vaerlose (#9). Norgaard scored 20 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Norgaard's great performance Vaerlose lost 69-87 to the league's current leader Bakken (#1, 7-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Vaerlose can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Norgaard he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Norgaard has a very solid season. In 7 games in Denmark he scored 6.9ppg. He also has 6.3rpg and FGP: 51.2%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Skyler Bowlin (190-G-89) of Horsens IC - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists 5. Attila Kovacs (203-F-85) of Horsholm - 26 points and 6 rebounds 6. Gregory Washington (208-C/F-84) of Svendborg - 20 points and 7 rebounds 7. Keane Thomann (211-C-89) of Horsens IC - 18 points and 9 rebounds 8. Donald Rutherford (199-F/C-87) of Svendborg - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Mickey Dennis (190-G/F-78) of SISU - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists 10. Frederik Rungby (199-F-93) of Horsens IC - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Lander University coaching staff is very excited to sign Nicklas. They see him as a potential impact freshmen. At 6'4 he can play both guard spots and his experience in the top Danish basketball league will make him a great asset. Nicklas spent one season with Global Squad where he helped the Gold Dragons to their best record in program history. The team went 16-4 and took home one AAU Championship in Baltimore, Maryland. Nicklas' high basketball IQ was a huge factor in the teams success. He finished 2nd on the team in assists and shot an impressive 47% from the field. Nicklas is such a team oriented player but still had his share of individual highlights with Global Squad. This included a season high 13 points vs Team Loaded. Nicklas was also an all-around force vs Constitution High School when he tallied 11 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. In the Elevate Hoops Tournament, Nicklas showed he can play against some of the best high school players in the world. Nicklas was a beast in crunch time of the semi-finals. This earned him interest from many NCAA coaches, including Southern Connecticut State University, Harcum College, and Menlo University. After all was said and done, Nicklas chose to accept the offer from Lander University. He will be playing in one of the most competitive NCAA D-II conferences in the United States. It will provide a great challenge for Nicklas, but he is more than capable of taking it head on. Courtesy of: abasketballacademy.com
