The most exciting game of round 10 in the Ligaen took place in Horsholm. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Randers (2-6) to eighth ranked Horsholm (3-6) 93-91 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Randers. Randers trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 28-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 91-93 at the end of the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Horsholm made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brenton Butler (190-G-87, college: Fordham) (190-87, college: Fordham) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Hungarian forward Attila Kovacs (203-85) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Horsholm's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds for Randers. Horsholm moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Randers dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Horsholm are looking forward to face league's leader Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Randers will play at home against Vaerlose (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Aalborg is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to fifth ranked Naestved (5-4) 84-70. American players dominated the game. Guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Joe Benjamin chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Ryan Willen (204-89, college: Lafayette) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Aalborg's coach Mads Olesen rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naestved maintains fifth position with 5-4 record. Aalborg at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Vaerlose (#9) forced the game against Aarhus BC (#6) into an overtime, but lost by three points 68-71 on Tuesday night. Randy Dezouvre notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by Soren Formann did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Vaerlose's coach Thomas Silfen tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aarhus BC maintains sixth position with 4-5 record. Vaerlose lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Aarhus BC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Aarhus to the arena .
