The most exciting game of round 12 in the Ligaen took place in Randers. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Randers (3-7) to third ranked Horsens IC (7-3) 89-86 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Randers outrebounded Horsens IC 46-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-G-89, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Missouri So.) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. International guard Darko Jukic (198-90) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Damian Ocana (198-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. Randers' coach Morten Hansen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Horsens IC maintains third position with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Svendborg, which they share with SISU. Newly promoted Randers keep the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Horsholm. Horsens IC is looking forward to face SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Randers will play on the road against Vaerlose and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Aalborg can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Aarhus BC (4-6) 64-54. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Willen (204-89, college: Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Soren Sorensen contributed with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Aalborg's coach Mads Olesen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bulgarian forward Hristo Petkov (202-85, college: Campbellsville) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for Aarhus BC. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Aalborg (1-9) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Vaerlose. Aarhus BC at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Aalborg will play against league's leader Svendborg on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aarhus BC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aarhus Bakken.

Vaerlose will play against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Naestved was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked SISU (7-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Naestved (5-5). SISU managed to secure a 6-point victory 65-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Naestved. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by Mickey Dennis who scored that evening 24 points and 8 rebounds. SISU's coach Almir Zeco used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SISU moved-up to third place, which they share with Horsens IC. Naestved at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. SISU's next round opponent will be Horsens IC (#3) in Horsens, which may be the game of the day. Naestved will play on the road against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Aalborg - Aarhus BC 64-54

Aalborg can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Aarhus BC (4-6) 64-54. Aarhus BC was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 23-11 charge of Aalborg, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Willen (204-89, college: Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Soren Sorensen (196-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Vaerlose - Svendborg 75-82

Undefeated leader Svendborg delivered the tenth consecutive victory on Thursday night. This time they beat 9th ranked Vaerlose (1-9) 82-75. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Vaerlose won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Vaerlose's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) who added 15 points and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and guard Nicolas Christensen (189-90) scored 20 points. Svendborg (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Vaerlose lost sixth consecutive game. The game in Naestved was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked SISU (7-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Naestved (5-5). SISU managed to secure a 6-point victory 65-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Naestved. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) who scored that evening 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Damon Smith (200-88, college: Mary) supported him with 22 points. SISU's coach Almir Zeco used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) did not help to save the game for Naestved. Power forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds. SISU moved-up to third place, which they share with Horsens IC. Naestved at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. SISU's next round opponent will be Horsens IC (#3) in Horsens, which may be the game of the day. Naestved will play on the road against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
