Dameligaen top team - SISU (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Aabyhoj (1-7) in Copenhagen 88-36. The game without a history. SISU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aabyhoj to just 5 points in second quarter. SISU held Aabyhoj to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.2 percent accuracy of the winners. SISU forced 36 Aabyhoj turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Aabyhoj's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center Marie Malone (191-C-89, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ida Pretzmann (174-90, college: TCU) who added 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. American center Kelly Meredith (182, college: Assumption) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated SISU have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Aabyhoj lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. SISU are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Horsens (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aabyhoj will play against Falcon and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Bottom-ranked Horsens (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Horsholm (4-4) 82-42. The winners were led by Simone Ceccardi (182-95) who scored that evening 11 points and 5 rebounds and Amalie Bonde supported her with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Horsholm's coach Johan Enbom felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points by guard Rebecca Houmoller (175-92) did not help to save the game for Horsens. Horsholm moved-up to fourth place. Horsens at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Horsholm will play against Vaerlose (#5) at home in the next round. Horsens will play against the league's leader SISU in Copenhagen and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game in Vaerlose supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Falcon (6-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Vaerlose (3-5). Falcon smashed Vaerlose 86-57 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Trenice Fuller who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Falcon's coach Ole Vincents felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Alexandra Chili produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Falcon maintains third position with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader SISU. Loser Vaerlose keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Amager. Falcon will meet Aabyhoj (#7) on the road in the next round. Vaerlose will play against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 8 Amager lost to Lemvig on the opponent's court 68-81.


SISU - Aabyhoj 88-36

The game without a history. Falcon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Vaerlose turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Josefine Vincents (164-92) chipped in 12 points. Four Falcon players scored in double figures. Falcon's coach Ole Vincents felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Alexandra Chili (180, college: Muhlenberg) produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian center Janet Hatfield (190-85) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Very expected game when 6th ranked Amager (3-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Lemvig (7-1) 81-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lemvig. Amager managed to win fourth quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lemvig forced 20 Amager turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Mallory Moore who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Emily Hatch (185-89, college: San Diego) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Ida Klussmann (169-93) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lemvig have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader SISU. Loser Amager dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Vaerlose. Lemvig will again meet Amager (#6) in the next round. Amager will have a break next round.

79ers (Dameligaen) agreed terms with 23-year old American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian State). She played most recently at ViVe in Finnish SM-sarja, but left. In three games she had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg last season. She was also voted All-Sun Belt 1st Team in 2015 at her college time.
