The most important game in the last round took place in Horsholm between third ranked Falcon (6-4) and fifth ranked Horsholm (5-5) on Saturday night. Falcon was defeated by Horsholm in a tough game on the road 68-73. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 24-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Maja Gerlyng-Hansen (180-G/F-88, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). Guard Anne Kristensen (172-87) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for Falcon. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Horsholm moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vaerlose. Falcon at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Horsholm is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Horsens (#8) on the road in the next round. Falcon will play against the league's second-placed Lemvig (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Horsens is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Vaerlose (5-5) 100-60. Center Rikke Fabricius (183-92) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Alexandra Chili chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Vaerlose's coach Jesper Johansen felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Sarah Bersang (168-95) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Vaerlose maintains fourth position with 5-5 record, which they share with Horsholm. Horsens at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Vaerlose will play against Aabyhoj (#7) at home in the next round. Horsens will play against Horsholm and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game in Aabyhoj was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Amager (4-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Aabyhoj (2-8). Amager managed to secure a 6-point victory 79-73 on Sunday. Catharina Jensen notched 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by Kelly Meredith did not help to save the game for Aabyhoj. Amager maintains sixth position with 4-6 record. Loser Aabyhoj keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Amager will meet at home league's leader SISU in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aabyhoj will play against Vaerlose (#4) and hope to secure a win.


Aabyhoj - Amager 73-79

The game in Aabyhoj was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Amager (4-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Aabyhoj (2-8). Amager managed to secure a 6-point victory 79-73 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Amager made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) notched 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) supported her with 19 points. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by American center Kelly Meredith (182, college: Assumption) did not help to save the game for Aabyhoj. Guard Maria Jespersen (182-94) added 24 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Amager maintains sixth position with 4-6 record. Loser Aabyhoj keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Amager will meet at home league's leader SISU in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aabyhoj will play against Vaerlose (#4) and hope to secure a win.

Horsens - Vaerlose 60-100

Bottom-ranked Horsens is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Vaerlose (5-5) 100-60. The game without a history. Vaerlose led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Horsens' 38 and made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Vaerlose forced 25 Horsens turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Horsens were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. 79ers (Dameligaen) agreed terms with 23-year old American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian State). She played most recently at ViVe in Finnish SM-sarja, but left. In three games she had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg last season. She was also voted All-Sun Belt 1st Team in 2015 at her college time.
