There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, extra overtimes and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Svendborg (13-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Naestved (8-6) 96-78. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Svendborg. Naestved dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Svendborg's 42. They outrebounded Svendborg 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Canadian guard Alexander Murphy (183-88) chipped in 19 points and 8 assists. The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naestved maintains fifth place with 8-6 record. Svendborg at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Naestved are looking forward to face Aarhus BC (#6) at home in the next round. Svendborg will play against the league's second-placed Bakken (#2) in Aarhus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points and 14 rebounds by Bonell Colas of Randers.

SISU - Horsholm 76-71

Rather expected game in Copenhagen where 7th ranked Horsholm (4-10) was defeated by fourth ranked SISU (10-4) 76-71 on Thursday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Horsholm won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Damon Smith (200-88, college: Mary) stepped up and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Bojan Marinkovic (209-84) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American guard Brenton Butler (190-87, college: Fordham) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. SISU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Horsens IC. Loser Horsholm keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. SISU will face Randers (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Horsholm will play against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Randers - Bakken 111-81

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Randers (4-10) smashed at home second-ranked Bakken (12-2) 111-81 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Randers. Bakken was better in fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Randers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bakken's 38. They outrebounded Bakken 44-30 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Randers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Forward Damian Ocana (198-86) stepped up and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) chipped in 22 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Morten Sahlertz (198-89) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Randers moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Horsholm. Defending champion Bakken keeps the second position with two games lost. Randers will face higher ranked SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bakken will play at home against the league's leader Svendborg and will have a slim chance for a victory.

J.Baker fired 31 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead Vaerlose to a double-overtime thrilling victory over Aarhus. R.Delk contributed 31 points for the hosts as they improved at 3-11 record in the ladder. Dezouvre responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds for Aarhus.

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Aalborg (1-13) was defeated at home by third ranked Horsens IC (10-4) 85-71 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Horsens IC. Aalborg was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International guard Darko Jukic (198-90) stepped up and scored 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners and American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: Missouri So., agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Mads Rasmussen (195-88) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Rob Delaney (194-89, college: Lafayette, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Horsens IC maintains third place with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Svendborg, which they share with SISU. Aalborg lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Horsens IC will face Naestved (#5) on the road in the next round.

Defending champion Bakken Bears (Ligaen) added to their roster 24-year old American center Brandon Bolden (211-98kg-93, agency: Elevate Agency). He just graduated from Southern (NCAA). In 7 games he recorded 3.3ppg and 1.9rpg last season. Bolden helped them to make it to the semifinals. As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro.
