International guard Darko Jukic (198-G-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Horsens IC, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 22-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, seven rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Aalborg (#10, 1-13) 85-71. Horsens IC maintains the 3rd position in Danish Ligaen. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Horsens IC will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. In the team's last game Jukic had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Horsens IC's top player in his first season with the team. Darko Jukic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 20.2ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.6rpg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg,2.2spg and 55.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old American Bonell Colas (205-F-82) of Randers. Colas had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Randers to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Bakken (#2, 12-2) 111-81. Randers' 8th position in the standings has not changed. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Randers managed to get this year. Colas is a newcomer at Randers, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.6ppg (#2). He also registered 14.7 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Justin Baker (203-F-89) of Vaerlose (#9). Baker got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for nineteen rebounds . He was a key player of Vaerlose, leading his team to a 104-97overtime win against the higher-ranked Aarhus BC (#6, 5-9). Vaerlose can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Baker he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Baker has individually a great season in Denmark. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.5rpg (9th best). Baker attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Damian Ocana (198-F-86) of Randers - 32 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Bojan Marinkovic (209-C-84) of Horsholm - 23 points and 6 rebounds 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
