An interesting game for Svendborg (15-1) which hosted in Svendborg 4th placed SISU (10-6). First ranked Svendborg managed to get a 14-point victory 95-81. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 59-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) contributed with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American center Zack Moritz (210-88, college: Boise St.) answered with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for SISU. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Svendborg maintains first place with 15-1 record. SISU at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face Horsholm (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SISU will play against the league's second-placed Bakken (#2) in Aarhus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Skyler Bowlin helped adding 25 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Bulgarian forward Hristo Petkov (202-85, college: Campbellsville) responded with 16 points. Aarhus BC's coach Arnar Gudjonsson rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Horsens IC have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-4 record having just one points less than leader Svendborg. Aarhus BC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Horsens IC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aarhus BC will play on the road against Vaerlose (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Aalborg will play against Randers (#6).

In the last game of round 19 Vaerlose was beaten by Naestved on the road 98-90.
The most impressive performance of 19th round was 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by Justin Baker of Vaerlose.



Naestved - Vaerlose 98-90

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Naestved (10-7) beat at home 9th ranked Vaerlose (3-13) 98-90 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-90. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) accounted for 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Naestved players scored in double figures. Forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) came up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Richard Delk (193-86, college: Troy) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Vaerlose in the defeat. Naestved maintains fifth place with 10-7 record. Loser Vaerlose keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Naestved will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vaerlose will play against Aarhus BC (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between 10th ranked Aalborg (1-14) and third ranked Bakken (13-3) in Aalborg on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Aarhus outscored Aalborg 94-58. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aalborg's 34. It was a great shooting night for Bakken especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a quality performance for the former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Andreas Jakobsen (187-83, college: Columbia, MO) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. The game in Aarhus was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Horsens IC (13-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Aarhus BC (5-11). Horsens IC did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72. The game was mostly controlled by Horsens IC. Aarhus BC was better in fourth quarter 18-17. Sixth-ranked Naestved (2-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked Bakken (8-1) in Aarhus on Thursday. Bakken managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. Stefan Bonneau (ex Njardvik) joins Svendborg - 3 days ago

Svendborg Rabbits (Ligaen) agreed terms with 29-year old American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-75kg-87, college: LIU Post). He already started the season at UMFN Njardvik in Icelandic Dominos League, but left the team in Nov.'16,. In 7 games he had very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg this season. In 2012 Bonneau was drafted by Springfield Armor (D-League) in sixth round (94th overall). He attended LIU Post (NCAA Div.II) and it is his fifth season in pro basketball.    [read more]
