We bring you last week's top performances from Danes who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Jonathan Gilling
   #1. This week's number one is former U20 international forward Jonathan Gilling (201-91, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Arizona St. to an easy victory against the Texas Tech University 77-62 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Gilling scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 38 minutes on the court. The Arizona State University has conference record this season. Gilling played for the Danish U20 national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to U20 international guard Esben Reinholt (195-93, currently plays in Adriatic League). He contributed to a KK Split's victory against the closely-ranked Un.Olimpija (8-7) 78-70 in the Adriatic League last Sunday. Reinholt scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. KK Split (6-9) is placed ninth in the Adriatic League. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. It's Reinholt's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 1.9ppg, 1.5rpg, 2FGP: 45.5%. Reinholt is in the roster of the Danish U20 national team.

   #3. The Danish player who performed third best last week abroad was U20 international forward Kevin Larsen (208-93, currently studies in the States). Larsen helped G.Washington win their game against the Virginia Military Institute 76-67 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The The George Washington University has conference record this season. It's Larsen's first year with the team. Larsen has relatively good stats this year: 12.2ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.3apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 36.4%, 3FGP: 43.3% and FT: 43.8%. He is also a member of the Danish U20 national team.

   #4. Power forward Anton Larsen (213-88, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA could not help the ODU (0-1) to beat the College of Charleston (1-0). Larsen recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. The ODU lost 65-76 on the road to the College of Charleston. Larsen is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in ODU's roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 12.2ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg in the nine games he played so far. Larsen used to play for the Danish national team back in 2008.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Danish passport:

   #1. Tencho Tenchev (202-F-93, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help the league outsider U20 (0-10) in their last game. Despite his good performance the bottom-ranked U20 lost 70-82 at home to the higher-ranked (#6) Tundja Yambol. Tenchev was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes. So far U20 lost all ten games in the Regular Season. It's Tenchev's first season with the team. Tenchev has relatively good stats this year: 12.2ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg in the nine games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Danish and Bulgarian. Despite Tenchev's Danish passport, he currently plays for the Bulgarian U20 national team and is not eligible to play for the Danish team.

Svendborg Rabbits (Ligaen) agreed terms with 29-year old American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-75kg-87, college: LIU Post). He already started the season at UMFN Njardvik in Icelandic Dominos League, but left the team in Nov.'16,. In 7 games he had very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg this season. In 2012 Bonneau was drafted by Springfield Armor (D-League) in sixth round (94th overall). He attended LIU Post (NCAA Div.II) and it is his fifth season in pro basketball.    [read more]

1st Division Round 7: Koge BK defeats BMI Bloodhounds in the game between Top 4 teams - 5 days ago

The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory. An interesting game for Koge BK (6-1) which played road game in Beder against 4th placed BMI Bloodhounds (4-3). Second ranked Koge BK managed to get a 7-point victory 77-70.
