The most important game in the last round took place in Vaerlose between third ranked Horsholm (8-6) and fifth ranked Vaerlose (6-8) on Wednesday night. Horsholm was defeated by Vaerlose on the road 56-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Horsholm. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-56. Vaerlose outrebounded Horsholm 47-21 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Alexandra Chili (180, college: Muhlenberg) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian center Janet Hatfield (190-85) contributed with 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Maja Gerlyng-Hansen (180-88, college: Siena) replied with 17 points for Horsholm. Horsholm's coach Johan Enbom rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaerlose maintains fifth position with 6-8 record. Horsholm at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Vaerlose are looking forward to face Aabyhoj (#7) on the road in the next round. Horsholm will play against the league's leader SISU (#1) in Copenhagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Dameligaen top team - SISU (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Amager (4-10) in Copenhagen 84-49. Forward Tea Jorgensen (177-87) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Marie Malone chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated SISU have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-0 record. Amager lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. SISU will play against Horsholm (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Amager will play against Falcon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Horsens is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Emily Hatch notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 23 points by Julie Ravn did not help to save the game for Horsens. Lemvig have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-1 record behind leader SISU. Loser Horsens still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Lemvig will again meet at home bottom-ranked Horsens (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Horsens will have a break next round.
