We bring you last week's top performances from Danes who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former U20 international forward Jonathan Gilling (201-91, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Arizona St. to an overtime victory against the University of Southern California (3-5) 98-93 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Gilling had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 6 assists in 42 minutes on the court. The Arizona State University has a solid 5-2 conference record this season. Gilling played for the Danish U20 national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to U20 international guard Esben Reinholt (195-93, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Croatia. He could not help KK Split (7-12) to beat Szolnok (5-14). Reinholt recorded 5 points in 11 minutes. KK Split lost 62-70 at home to the league outsider (#14) Szolnok. It was KK Split's third consecutive loss in a row. It's Reinholt's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 1.7ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 25.0% in the 12 games he played so far. Reinholt is in the roster of the Danish U20 national team.

   #3. The Danish player who performed third best last week abroad was U20 international forward Kevin Larsen (208-93, currently studies in the States). He contributed to a 1-point G.Washington's victory against the Rhode Island University (1-4) 66-65 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Larsen scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The The George Washington University has a solid 4-2 conference record this season. It was G.Washington's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Larsen's first year with the team. His overall stats this season are: 1.7ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 25.0%. Larsen is also a member of the Danish U20 national team.

   #4. Forward Mathias Seilund (201-90, is currently at the American university) was not able to help the Fair Dickinson (2-6) in their game against the Quinnipiac College (4-4) in the NCAA. He scored 6 points in 20 minutes. The Fair Dickinson was edged 58-56 on the road by the Quinnipiac College. It was Fair Dickinson's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Seilund's overall stats are: 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg in the 12 games. He used to play for the Danish U20 national team back in 2010.

   #5. Former international swingman Peter Dahl Knudsen (195-88, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the Peru State College in their game against the Utah Valley University (1-3) in the HAAC. Knudsen recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. his team was crushed 84-49 in Orem, UT by the Utah Valley University. Knudsen's total stats this season are: 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg. He used to play for the Danish national team two years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Danish passport:

   #1. Tencho Tenchev (202-F-93, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help the league outsider U20 (0-14) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked U20 was crushed 95-71 at home by the higher-ranked Beroe (#7). Tenchev was the top scorer with 20 points. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Tenchev's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg. Tenchev has a dual citizenship: Danish and Bulgarian. Despite his Danish passport, Tenchev currently plays for the Bulgarian U20 national team and is not eligible to play for the Danish team.

Carrefour El Bulevar de Avila (LEB Silver) landed 19-year old Danish swingman Mads Sturup (195-82kg-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management). He has played for the last three years at Team FOG Naestved in Danish Ligaen. In 31 games he averaged just 2.9ppg last season. Sturup helped them to make it to the semifinals. Bakken signs rookie Mike Gesell in his first year in pro basketball - 4 days ago

Bakken Bears (Ligaen) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American guard Mike Gesell (188-86kg-93). Gesell just graduated from Iowa (NCAA). In 32 games he recorded 7.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 6.1apg and 1.4spg last season. Great year indeed as he was voted to CoSIDA NCAA Division I Academic All-District 6 1st Team and CoSIDA NCAA Division I Academic All-America 2nd Team. Svendborg keeps Moten for another season - 5 days ago

Svendborg Rabbits (Ligaen) re-signed 24-year old American forward Darious Moten (198-88kg-92, college: Mercer). He played there last season. In 23 Ligaen games he averaged 13.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 2.3apg. Among other achievements Moten's team made it to the SoCon Tournament Semifinals in 2015. He received also All-SoCon 1st Team award in 2015 at his college time.
