The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets.

The most exciting game of round 25 in the Ligaen took place in Horsholm. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Naestved (11-11) to seventh ranked Horsholm (8-13) 84-83 on Wednesday evening. Naestved trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-84 at the end of the game. Horsholm made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Horsholm outrebounded Naestved 40-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Naestved helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Robert Fields (185-88, college: Catawba) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Serbian center Bojan Marinkovic (209-84) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Horsholm's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for Naestved. Horsholm have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 8-13 record. Naestved at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Horsholm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Naestved will play at home against Randers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Bakken (17-5) which hosted in Aarhus their biggest opponent Horsens IC (17-6). Third ranked Bakken had an easy win 98-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. American guard Charles Parker (193-85, college: Millersville) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 assists for the winners and Chris Christoffersen chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: Missouri So.) responded with 15 points and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Horsens IC at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Bakken will play against SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Horsens IC will have a break next round.
Ligaen top team - Svendborg (20-2) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat tenth ranked Aalborg (1-19) 82-71. Donald Rutherford nailed 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 18-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Anthony Jones came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Aalborg in the defeat. Svendborg have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-2 record. Aalborg lost tenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Svendborg will meet at home Aarhus BC (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aalborg will play against Vaerlose and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Vaerlose supposed to be also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Randers (10-12) played at the court of eighth ranked Vaerlose (7-15). Vaerlose smashed Randers 97-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Randers. Axel Karason fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Vaerlose's coach Thomas Silfen felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaerlose maintains eighth place with 7-15 record. Newly promoted Randers keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Vaerlose's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Aalborg (#10) on the road.

In the last game of round 25 Aarhus BC were beaten by SISU on the road 89-81.



Horsholm - Naestved 84-83

Bakken - Horsens IC 98-79

An interesting game for Bakken (17-5) which hosted in Aarhus their biggest opponent Horsens IC (17-6). Third ranked Bakken had an easy win 98-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Horsens IC was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Horsens IC's 48. They outrebounded Horsens IC 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Bakken players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Charles Parker (193-85, college: Millersville) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 assists for the winners and the former international center Chris Christoffersen (218-79, college: Oregon) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked SISU (13-9) beat 9th ranked Aarhus BC (5-17) in Copenhagen 89-81. Aarhus BC was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Aarhus BC 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. SISU players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) fired 25 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Mikael Nielsen (178-90) chipped in 27 points and 8 assists. American forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import swingman Randy Dezouvre (195-87, college: Iona) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Aarhus BC players scored in double figures. SISU maintains fourth place with 13-9 record. Aarhus BC lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. SISU's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aarhus BC will play on the road against the league's leader Svendborg (#1).
