The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds.

The most exciting game of round 26 in the Ligaen took place in Naestved. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Randers (10-13) to fifth ranked Naestved (12-11) 80-77 in the game for the fifth place. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Naestved outrebounded Randers 51-32 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila used entire bench in such tough game. American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Naestved maintains fifth position with 12-11 record. Newly promoted Randers keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Naestved are looking forward to face higher ranked Horsens IC (#3) in Horsens in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Randers will play at home against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Copenhagen. 4th ranked host SISU (13-10) was smashed by second ranked Bakken (18-5) 93-68. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Chris Christoffersen supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by the former international point guard Mikael Nielsen (178-90) did not help to save the game for SISU. Bakken have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 18-5 record having just three points less than leader Svendborg. SISU at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Bakken will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SISU will play on the road against Vaerlose (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Ligaen top team - Svendborg (21-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Aarhus BC (5-18) 86-67. The best player for the winners was Adama Darboe who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Charles Funches produced 26 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Svendborg have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-2 record. Aarhus BC lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 18 games lost. Svendborg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aarhus BC will play against Aalborg (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 26 Vaerlose won against Aalborg on the opponent's court 88-73.

Aalborg - Vaerlose 73-88

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Aalborg (1-20) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Vaerlose (8-15) 88-73 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Vaerlose. Aalborg managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Vaerlose especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import guard Richard Delk (193-86, college: Troy) chipped in 23 points. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Vaerlose's coach Thomas Silfen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Anthony Jones (208-89, college: Baylor) produced 11 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and power forward Soren Sorensen (196-88) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Vaerlose maintains eighth position with 8-15 record. Aalborg lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
