34-year old swingman Mickey Dennis (190-G/F-78) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for SISU and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 28. He had the game-high 35 points adding four rebounds and four assists for SISU in his team's victory, helping them to beat Aalborg (#10, 1-22) 92-85. SISU maintains the 4th position in Danish league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. SISU will need more victories to improve their 15-10 record. In the team's last game Dennis had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at SISU, through which he has constantly improved. Mickey Dennis averages this season 17.7ppg and 5.2rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Luis Guzman (193-G-87) of Aalborg. He is Dominican Rep.-American guard in his first season at Aalborg. In the last game Guzman recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Aalborg lost that game 85-92 to the higher-ranked SISU (#4, 15-10). Aalborg are still at the very bottom. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Aalborg managed to get this year. Guzman is a newcomer at Aalborg and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former Temple University star Guzman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Charles Funches (203-F-88) of Aarhus BC (#9). Funches got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . Despite Funches' great performance Aarhus BC lost 81-86 to slightly higher-ranked Horsholm (#7, 9-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Aarhus BC can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Funches he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Funches has a very solid season. In 11 games in Denmark he scored 17.9ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Bonell Colas (205-F-82) of Randers - 30 points and 12 rebounds 5. Skyler Bowlin (190-G-89) of Horsens IC - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists 6. The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

On another positive note the Rabbits also reported re-signing Claus Magaard, one of the CDL's top shooters. However, the team is still lacking height so it will be interesting to see what other Rabbits can be pulled out of the hat in Svendborg in the off-season.
Rumors also have Adama Darboe and Donald Rutherford (199-F/C-87, college: Catawba), two of the team's leading scorers, heading somewhere else.
Svendborg have extended the contract of Claus Magaard (194-F/G-86). The guard had a solid season with the Rabbits. He tallied 8.0 points, 2.9 boards, 1.1 assists per game in Ligaen last season.
