The most important game in the last round took place in Horsholm between third ranked Svendborg (10-8) and fifth ranked Horsholm (8-7) on Wednesday night. Svendborg was crushed by Horsholm on the road 55-86. The game without a history. Horsholm led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American Jyles Smith (209-92, college: Savannah St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Emil Hjorth (198-96) contributed with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Alexander Bak (193-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) replied with 13 points and 4 assists for Svendborg. Svendborg's coach Arnar Gudjonsson gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Horsholm moved-up to fourth place. Svendborg at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Horsholm are looking forward to face league's leader Horsens IC in Horsens in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Svendborg will play at home against the league's second-placed Bakken and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Horsens IC (14-2) which played road game in Randers against 4th ranked Randers (8-10). First ranked Horsens IC had an easy win 102-69. Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (200-85) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Will Artino chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Randers at the other side dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. Horsens IC will play against Horsholm (#4) on the road in the next round. Randers will play against SISU in Copenhagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Stevnsgade is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to seventh ranked SISU (6-12) 86-64 on Tuesday evening. Kyle Dranginis notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists by Davie Champagnie did not help to save the game for Stevnsgade. Stevnsgade's coach Ricky Kristensen already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. SISU maintains seventh position with 6-12 record. Loser Stevnsgade still closes the standings. SISU will meet at home higher ranked Randers (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stevnsgade will play against Naestved and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 18 SISU was smashed by Naestved on the road 89-66.
The most impressive performance of 18th round was 16 points and 18 rebounds by Tanner McGrew of SISU.

Naestved - SISU 89-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Naestved's (8-8) home victory over 7th ranked SISU (6-12) 89-66 on Thursday. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Naestved forced 19 SISU turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Naestved made 7 blocks. Senegalese power forward Cheikh Sane (207-92, college: Marshall, agency: Octagon Europe) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Nigerian forward Patrick Onwenu (198-93, college: Alcorn St.) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Naestved's coach Milan Skobalj felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds by American forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for SISU. His fellow American import point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Naestved have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser SISU keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Naestved will meet at home bottom-ranked Stevnsgade (#8) in the next round. Bottom-ranked Stevnsgade is still unable to win any game. Newly promoted APOP Paphou (Division A) landed 25-year old American power forward Will Artino (211-104kg-92, college: Creighton, agency: KMG Sports Management). He played most recently at Horsens IC in Danish Ligaen. In 40 games he averaged 12.4ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.2apg last season. Artino helped them to make it to both league and Cup finals after they ended regular season as second best team. After 4 rounds played we can already see who rules in the 1st Division and who belongs to weaker ones. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of EBAA (2-1) in Aarhus on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Vaerlose (3-0) 68-42.
