Here is the weekly review of the top performing Danish players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Darko Jukic (199-90, currently plays in Slovenia). He contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Tajfun (8-9) crushing them 67-37 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM in Wednesday night's game. Jukic scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 15 minutes on the court. Krka Novo Mesto (14-4) is placed second in the Liga Nova KBM. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This year Jukic averages: 8.2ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.8apg and FT: 66.7% in five games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Danish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international guard Chanan Colman (191-84, college: Chipola JC, currently plays in Israel). Colman contributed to a Hapoel Eilat's victory against the ninth-ranked Ironi Nahariya (8-10) 86-79 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. He scored 10 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Hapoel Eilat (10-8) is placed fifth in the Winner League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Colman's first season with the team. Colman's overall stats this year are: 8.3ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 46.9%, 3FGP: 36.1%. He has a dual citizenship: Danish and Israeli. Former Roskilde BC starter played for the Danish national team in 2008.

   #3. The Danish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska, currently plays in Germany). Shields could not help Deutsche Bank Skyliners (8-12) to beat Bayern Muenchen (16-3). He scored 8 points in 29 minutes. Deutsche Bank Skyliners was crushed 95-70 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#3) Bayern Muenchen. Shields has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 59.7%(74-124), 3FGP: 36.5% and FT: 74.6% in 19 games. He played for the Danish national team two years ago.

   #4. Guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to help Norrkoping Dolphins in their game against KFUM Jamtland (11-11) in the Swedish Basketligan. Plannthin scored 7 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Norrkoping Dolphins was crushed 83-59 in Jamtland by the lower-ranked KFUM (#6). Plannthin's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Danish national team back in 2015.

Former U20 international guard Sebastian Petersen (188-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Malbas (1-5) in their last game on Friday. Despite Petersen's very good performance Malbas was defeated 82-72 in Norrkoping by the second-ranked Dolphins. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Petersen also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists. This season Petersen has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Danish U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Forward Jonathan Gilling (203-91, college: Arizona St., currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Leche Rio Breogan (13-8) in their last game. Despite Gilling's good performance Leche Rio Breogan was edged 81-78 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked (#10) Lleida_Basquet. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Gilling also added 4 rebounds in 22 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Gilling has reliable stats this year: 10.8ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.5apg in 21 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Danish National Team roster.

   #7. International center Lasse Elbaek (208-94, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sebastian Petersen. But that was another game of his team in Swedish Basketligan which we would like to mention. Elbaek was the major contributor in Malbas' surprising victory against the league leader BC Lulea (18-5) 81-77. He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 12 rebounds. Malbas Oresund Malmo (1-5) is placed second from the bottom (#8) in the Basketligan. It was Malbas' third consecutive victory in a row. Elbaek averaged so far 10.3ppg, 6.9rpg and 1.2apg. He is also Danish national team player.

   #8. Guard Christian Benzon (193-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Evansville (1-4) in their last game. Despite Benzon's good performance the Evansville was edged 85-84 at home by the Indiana State University. He scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. Benzon has been at the team for four years. This season Benzon's overall stats are: 5.2ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg in 25 games. He used to play for the Danish national team back in 2013.

   #9. Former international forward Daniel Mortensen (203-94, currently plays in NCAA2) led Barry University to a victory against the Saint Leo University (7-7) 96-91 in the NCAA2 last Saturday. He scored 11 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 36 minutes. The Barry University has a very good 12-2 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Mortensen averaged so far 10.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3bpg in 16 games. He used to play for the Danish national team two years ago.

   #10. Guard Peter Moller (190-94, currently plays in NCAA2) helped Metropolitan State College of Denver win their game against the Black Hills State University (4-14) 62-59 in the NCAA2 on Friday night. Moller recorded 13 points. The Metropolitan State College of Denver has a solid 10-5 record this season. Moller averaged so far 12.0ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.6apg. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Danish senior national team.

   #11. Former U18 international swingman Nicklas Jonsson (195-96, currently plays in NCAA2) helped Lander University win their game against the Flagler College 73-56 in the NCAA2 in Saturday night's game. Jonsson scored 12 points in a mere 15 minutes. This year Jonsson's total stats are: 5.4ppg and 1.4rpg in 13 games. He used to play for the Danish U18 national team three years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international forward Johannes Nielsen (208-96, currently studies in the States) helped Kennesaw St. win their game against the South Carolina Upstate 84-79 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. Nielsen has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 3.3rpg in 20 games. He used to play for the Danish U20 national team back in 2015.

   #13. Former U18 international guard August Haas (185-97, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Wisc.-Milwaukee in their game against the University of Illinois-Chicago in the NCAA. Haas scored 5 points. His team was defeated 105-100. Haas has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 3.1rpg and 3.8apg. He used to play for the Danish U18 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former international power forward Kevin Larsen (207-93, college: G.Washington, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Mitteldeutscher BC Weissenfels in a victory against the sixth-ranked White Wings 77-61 in the German ProA (second division) last Friday. Larsen scored only one point in 16 minutes. Larsen has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 3.0rpg in two games. He used to play for the Danish national team back in 2015.

   #15. International guard Alan Voskuil (191-86, college: Texas Tech, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Viola RC in their game against Agrigento in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Voskuil scored 5 points. His team was crushed by 32 points 90-58. Voskuil has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg. He is a naturalized American. Voskuil is also in the roster of the Danish national team. He used to play for Horsens IC in Danish league.


The list of other players, who all have Danish passport but never been selected to any of Danish national teams:

   #1. Tencho Tenchev (202-F-93, currently plays in Balkan League) managed to help BC Beroe in a 1-point victoryagainst the closely-ranked Feni Industries (1-3) 85-84 in the Balkan League last Tuesday. Tenchev scored 5 points and had 3 steals in 19 minutes. BC Beroe (4-0) is placed fifth in the Balkan League. So far his team won all four games in the Second Stage. There are only two games left until the end of the Balkan League Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. This year Tenchev's overall stats are: 7.2ppg and 2.0rpg in 10 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Danish and Bulgarian.

   #2. Toby Christensen (201-F, currently plays in NCAA2) could not help the Southern Connecticut State University (12-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Christensen's very good performance his team was edged 87-86 on the road by the Adelphi University. He scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Christensen's total stats this season are: 5.6ppg and 4.1rpg.

   #3. Fred Brondsted (198-G/F, currently plays in NCAA2) led West Virginia Wesleyan College to a victory against the The University of Virginia Coll. Wise (4-11) 73-63 in the NCAA2 last Wednesday. Brondsted scored 12 points. The West Virginia Wesleyan College has 7-7 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Brondsted averaged so far 10.5ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.3apg.

   #4. Mads Rasmussen (198-G-88, currently plays in Sweden) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Lobas (5-5) 85-66 in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) last Wednesday. Rasmussen scored 8 points in 20 minutes. Helsingborg BBK (6-5) is placed third in BEHS forts group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Rasmussen has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.0apg in three games.

   #5. Jonas Anderson (190-G-94, currently plays in NCAA2) was not able to help the Black Hills State University in their game against the Univ.of Colorado at Colorado Springs (8-8) in the NCAA2. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Anderson scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. The Black Hills State University was edged 79-77 in Colorado Springs by the Univ.of Colorado at. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Anderson has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.2apg in 18 games.

Wolfpack/BMS and Vaerlose reach Finals - 9 days ago
Wolfpack/BMS and Vaerlose advanced into 1Division Finals. They swept their respective semifinal series. Wolfpack/BMS claimed a 72:64 road win over EBAA to complete the sweep. It was a close battle but the visitors managed to hold their nerve and eked out a decisive win. Vaerlose followed a road success over Koge BK with the home victory. Vaerlose secured an 89:71 win in Game 2 and sealed their Finals appearance.    [read more]
