Estonian U18 National Team could not keep the winning pace at the Baltic Cup international tournament in Latvia. They wrapped up their campaign with an 80:93 loss to Turkey. Estonia thus slipped at 2-1 record and finished the competition at the second position.

Estonia thus slipped at 2-1 record and finished the competition at the second position. Turkey got to a strong start as they accounted for 30 points in the opening frame. It was worth an 11-point cushion at the first break. Turkey continued to dominate in the second frame keeping it hot in offense. They fired 26 points in the second stanza and earned a 14-point lead at the interval. However Martin Dorbek (183-G-91) gave a necessary spark for the Estonian team after the major break. They finally adjusted their defense and began clipping the margin. Estonia won the quarter but still trailed by 11 points into the fourth period. Turkey proved cool and solid in the final minutes never allowing Estonia to threaten the margin. Can Maxim Mutaf (193-G-91) finished with 24 points to pace Turkey to the tournaments title. Rain Veideman (190-G-91) delivered 14 points for Estonia. Martin Dorbek added 13 points, while Sven Kaldre (194-F-91) had 12 in defeat. Estonia will tip off their European championship in Division B campaign on July 23. They will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the opener.

Estonian U18 National Team is participating in the Baltic Cup international tournament in Liepaja. They have played two games already and celebrated victories in both of them.
Estonia faced Latvia in the opener. The hosts looked better in the starting frame and earned a 22:19 lead at the first break. But a well-balanced performance from the visitors helped them accumulate a 40:33 advantage at halftime. Estonia faced Latvia in the opener. The hosts looked better in the starting frame and earned a 22:19 lead at the first break. Rain Veideman (190-G-91) knocked down 17 points to lead the charge. Sven Kaldre (194-F-91) added 16 points, while Rannar Raap (185-G-92) had 13 points for the winners. Next Estonia took on Lithuania. Estonia led right from the start taking a 15:8 lead early on. The Estonian juniors secured a 29:18 lead after ten minutes of action. Estonia did not loosen the grip winning the first half 46:37. Rain Veideman was unstoppable in the second half propelling Estonia to a 92:87 at the end. Veideman tallied 36 points for Estonia. Sven Kaldre added 20 points in the victory.

Former Kalev Cramo guard Josh Pace (198-G-83, agency: Dynasty Sports, college: Syracuse) has been invited to tryout with Maccabi Haifa Heat of the Israel Premiere League. The tryout will take place July 28th and 29th. Maccabi Haifa will play in the FIBA Eurocup competition in the 2009-2010 season.
The tryout was arranged by Sports Agent, Nate McCray, of Dynasty Sports Management, and Maccabi Haifa Owner Jeff Rosen who purchased the team in 2007 [read more]
Former Kalev Cramo guard Josh Pace (198-G-83, agency: Dynasty Sports, college: Syracuse) has been invited to tryout with Maccabi Haifa Heat of the Israel Premiere League. Pace, who just returned to the US from Estonia; where he played for BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn this past season, had tryouts last summer with the NBA's Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors. He achieved those tryouts after a league-leading 23 points per game average while with the East Kentucky Miners of the CBA in the US. During his tenure with Kalev Cramo, Pace averaged 9 points and 4 rebounds per game as the team reached and won the EMKL Finals defeating Tartu Rock.
