The most exciting game of round 6 in the Meistriliiga took place in Tartu. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Tartu Ulikooli (2-4) to fourth ranked Audentes SG/N. (1-6) 61-60 on Monday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 31-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Audentes SG/N. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Tartu Ulikooli turnovers. Swingman Greeta Uprus (175-94) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Ellen-Anett Poldmaa (177-94) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Kairi Poljakov (167-90) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Tartu Ulikooli's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Audentes SG/N. maintains fourth position with 1-6 record. Tartu Ulikooli at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (5-1) keeps a position of league leader. Audentes SG/N. lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.


Audentes SG/N. - Eclex Tallinn 37-107

Very significant was Eclex Tallinn's (#2, 5-1) victory against 4th ranked Audentes SG/N. (1-6) 107-37. The game without a history. Eclex Tallinn led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Audentes SG/N. to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Eclex Tallinn dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Audentes SG/N.'s 24. Eclex Tallinn forced 33 Audentes SG/N. turnovers. The former international forward Gerly Kostla (180-80) notched 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Birgit Piibur (160-94) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Eclex Tallinn players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by forward Marie Roosalu (177-96) did not help to save the game for Audentes SG/N.. Forward Rosemary Rits (180-92) added 3 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
