U16 ESTONIA - U16 FINLAND 47-49

Finland jumped to 2-0 record in Group A of U16 EuroBasket Division B in Tallinn. They grabbed 47-49 victory against the host team and already booked a spot for the Qualifying Round. Estonia dropped to 0-2 in this pool, but still has a chance to advance. Emilia Helle's free throw lifted Finland to 45-49 lead with 13 seconds remaining in the game and Kadri-Ann Lass (177-F-96) made a basket at the other side with 6 seconds to go. Tuuli Menna (183-F-96) was sent to the line and she missed both free throws, but Elina Koskimes grabbed an offensive rebound to secure the victory for Finland. Quarters: 14-18, 15-9, 6-15, 12-7. Tuuli Menna led the winners with 16 points and 7 rebounds today. Veera Valimaa (182-F-96) had 8 points and 7 boards, while Elina Koskimies (180-F-96) helped with 6 pts and 5 rebs. In defeat, Marie Roosalu (177-F-96) collected 12 points and 6 rebs. Kadri-Ann Lass had 10 pts and 9 rebs, while Sofia Anissimova (179-F-96) added 9 points and 15 boards. Tomorrow, Finland will meet Portugal for the first place in this group. Estonia will play against Ukraine and it will be a do-or-die game for both teams.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Tahtvere (2-1) in Tallinn on Friday night. Visitors were edged by VARS (2-1) 60-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tahtvere. It was a key game for the top position in the league. NKL Round 5: OSK hands first loss to Audentese SK - 10 days ago

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Audentese SK (1-1) in Tallinn on Wednesday night.
