Timo Oja (187-G-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Valga and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 25-year old guard had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Valga in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Rapla (#8, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 67-66. Valga is placed at 2nd position in Estonian KML. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Valga will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Oja had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Valga's top player in his first season with the team. Oja has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.3ppg) and averages solid 57.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old international forward Timo Eichfuss (200-F-88) of league's best team TU/Rock. Eichfuss impressed basketball fans with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he lead TU/Rock to another comfortable win outscoring Parnu (1-2) 80-50. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Eichfuss is one of the most experienced players at TU/Rock and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Valga's star - former international swingman Veljo Vares (200-F/G-81). Vares scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Valga, helping his team with a 87-65 easy win against Hito/Johvi (#5, 1-2). Valga needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Vares has a very solid season. In 4 games in Estonia he scored 12.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ivan Nelyubov (207-C-88) of TU/Rock - 16 points and 5 rebounds
5. Rain Raadik (208-C-89) of Parnu - 10 points and 14 rebounds
6. Edgars Cunda (195-G-84) of Valga - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Andre Parn (202-F-77) of Rapla - 19 points and 5 rebounds
8. Sander Saare (182-PG-94) of Hito/Johvi - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Morgan Grim (203-F-88) of Valga - 6 points and 16 rebounds
10. Edgars Cunda (195-G-84) of Valga - 10 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
