The most important game in the last round took place in Rapla between second ranked BC Rakvere (5-2) and fourth ranked Rapla (4-3) on Saturday night. BC Rakvere was crushed by Rapla on the road 95-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of BC Rakvere. The game was mostly controlled by Rapla. BC Rakvere managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (178-PG-93) who scored 22 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Forward Kristjan Voolaid (201-92) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Rapla's coach Indrek Ruut felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American forward Renato Lindmets (200-84, college: Westfield St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Rapla have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-3 record. BC Rakvere at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Rapla are looking forward to face Hito/Johvi (#8) on the road in the next round. BC Rakvere will play against Kalev/Cramo (#5) in Tallinn and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Johvi was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Valga (5-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Hito/Johvi (1-6). Valga defeated Hito/Johvi 71-59. It was a good game for Latvian center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Veljo Vares contributed with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Sander Saare (182-94) replied with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Hito/Johvi. Hito/Johvi's coach Priit Sternhof rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Valga moved-up to third place. Hito/Johvi lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Tln Kalev. Valga will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hito/Johvi will play at home against Rapla (#4) to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in Tallinn was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Rapla (4-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Tln Kalev (1-6). Rapla defeated Tln Kalev 85-69 on Friday. Rait-Riivo Laane scored 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Janis Vahter with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rapla have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-3 record. Tln Kalev lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. They share the position with Hito/Johvi. Rapla will meet Hito/Johvi (#8) on the road in the next round. Tln Kalev's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tallinn to the arena TTU.

They maintain second position with 5-2 record having just -2 point less than leader TU/Rock. TTU at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. BC Rakvere's next round opponent will be Kalev/Cramo (#5) in Tallinn. TTU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn Tln Kalev.

In the last two games of round 6 Tln Kalev was defeated by Valga in a road game 68-58. Parnu smashed Hito/Johvi at home 81-57.


Valga - Tln Kalev 68-58

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Tln Kalev (1-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Valga (5-4) 68-58. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 26-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Valga outrebounded Tln Kalev 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Latvian center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Veljo Vares (200-81) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by Nigerian-American forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for Tln Kalev. American-Italian guard Marc Campbell (180-86, college: N.Carolina) added 13 points and 5 assists. Tln Kalev's coach Kalle Klandorf tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valga moved-up to third place. Tln Kalev lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Valga will have a break next round.
