  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Estonians who are currently playing abroad.

Kristjan Kangur
Kristjan Kangur
#1. This week's number one is an international small forward Kristjan Kangur (201-82, currently plays in Euroleague). He was the major contributor in a 2-point Montepaschi Siena's victory against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (2-4) 75-73 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Kangur scored 13 points and added 3 passes in 25 minutes on the court. Montepaschi Siena (3-3) is placed third in group B. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kangur's first season with the team. This year he averages: 9.7ppg, 2.2rpg, 2FGP: 66.7%, 3FGP: 57.9%(11-19) and FT: 92.9% in the six games he played so far. Kangur is currently a member of the Estonian senior national team.

Siim-Sander Vene
Siim-Sander Vene
#2. Second place goes to an international small forward Siim-Sander Vene (203-90, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Baltic League). He led his Lithuanian team Rudupis to a victory against the fourth-ranked Nevezis (3-4) 72-68 in the Baltic League last Saturday. Vene scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Rudupis Prienu (8-0) is placed first in group C. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Baltic League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Vene's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.4apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 21.1%. He is in the roster of the Estonian senior national team.

Janar Talts
Janar Talts
#3. The Estonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Janar Talts (207-83, currently plays in Italy). Talts contributed to a 1-point Cimberio Varese's victory against the closely-ranked Banco di Sardegna Sassari (6-2) 85-84 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 4 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Cimberio Varese (8-0) is placed first in the SerieA. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Talts' overall stats are: 2.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 2FGP: 81.8% in the eight games. He is also a member of the Estonian senior national team.

Sten-Timmu Sokk
Sten-Timmu Sokk
#4. Point guard Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-89, currently plays in Georgia) managed to help Olimpi Tbilisi to win against the ninth-ranked Samedicino-Academia (0-4) crushing them 106-63 in a derby game in the Georgian Superleague in Saturday night's game. Sokk scored 5 points. Olimpi Tbilisi (4-0) is placed third in the Superleague. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. Sokk is currently third on the list of best passers. His total stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 6.0apg and 1.5spg. Sokk has a dual citizenship: Greek and Estonian. He is also Estonian national team player.

Viljar Veski
Viljar Veski
#5. Former international center Viljar Veski (215-86, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) could not help Palma (2-4) to beat CB Guadalajara (4-1). Veski did not have that impressive stats last Saturday. He scored only 2 points in 14 minutes. Palma lost 66-75 on the road to the leading CB Guadalajara. It was Palma's third consecutive loss in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Veski's total stats are: 8.2ppg and 3.3rpg in the six games. He used to play for the Estonian national team two years ago.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Estonian passport:

#1. Reimo Pahn (202-F-87, currently plays in Finland) managed to help Kerava Energia Team to win against the fifth-ranked JyWe (5-4) 82-77 in the Finnish 1st Division (second division) on Sunday night.
