We bring you last week's top performances from Estonians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Siim-Sander Vene (203-90, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Lithuania). He was the major contributor in Rudupis' victory against the fifth-ranked Siauliai (4-3) 96-78 in the Lithuanian LKL in Saturday night's game. Vene scored 14 points and added 3 assists in 23 minutes on the court. Rudupis Prienu (7-0) is placed first in the LKL. So far his team won all seven games in the Regular Season. Vene has relatively good stats this year: 11.9ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.9apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 57.4%(27-47), 3FGP: 35.3% and FT: 78.6% in the seven games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Estonian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Kristjan Kangur (201-82, currently plays in Euroleague). Kangur led his Italian team Montepaschi Siena to a 2-point victory against the closely-ranked Maccabi T-A (5-2) 89-87 in the Euroleague last Friday. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Montepaschi Siena (4-3) is placed third in group B. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Kangur averages: 10.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 3FGP: 65.2%(15-23) and FT: 92.9%. He is in the roster of the Estonian senior national team.

   #3. The Estonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-89, currently plays in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague. Sokk could not help Olimpi (4-1) to beat Kutaisi (5-1). He scored 7 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 10 assists in 28 minutes. Olimpi was badly defeated 97-81 at home by the second-ranked Kutaisi. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. It's Sokk's first season with the team. Sokk is currently second on the list of best passers with 6.8apg. This year his other stats are: 9.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 39.1%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 75.0% in the five games. Sokk has a dual citizenship: Greek and Estonian. Ex-Triobet/Dalkia player is also a member of the Estonian senior national team.

   #4. Center Viljar Veski (215-86, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Palma Air Europa to win against the closely-ranked Cafes Aitona (2-4) 73-56 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded only 1 points. Palma Air Europa (3-4) is placed seventh in the LEB Silver. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Veski's overall stats this season are: 7.1ppg and 3.1rpg. He used to play for the Estonian national team back in 2010.

   #5. U18 international shooting guard Kent-Kaarel Vene (192-94, currently plays in Lithuania) contributed to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Nafta Universitetas (4-10) 93-74 in the Lithuanian NKL (second division) on Thursday night. He recorded only 1 points. Zalgiris-Sabonio krepsinio centras (9-5) is placed sixth in the NKL. This season Vene averages just 0.8ppg. He plays currently for the Estonian U18 national team.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Estonian passport:

   #1. Reimo Pahn (202-F-87, currently plays in Finland) managed to help Kerava Energia Team in a victory against the fourth-ranked HBA-Marsky (5-5) crushing them 105-84 in the Finnish 1st Division (second division) last Tuesday. Pahn recorded only 2 points in 12 minutes. Kerava Energia Team (7-3) is placed second in Division B. This year Pahn's overall stats are: 2.3ppg and 2.3rpg in the three games he played so far.

Tokyo Cinq Reves (B League D3) signed 24-year old American power forward Josiah Heath (205-104kg-93, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports). He started the season at TLU/Kalev in Estonian Alexela KML. In four games he had 8.8ppg and 6.3rpg this season. Heath also played 1 game in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 4 points, 12 rebounds and 1 block. The last season he played at Aris Leeuwarden in Dutch Eredivisie. Here is the weekly review of the top performing Estonian players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is former international small forward Siim-Sander Vene (201-90). He could not help BC Nizhny Novgorod (1-2) in their last game. Despite Vene's very good performance BC Nizhny Novgorod was crushed 98-76 on the road by the higher-ranked (#9) Hapoel Jerusalem.    [read more]

Lithuanian Center Dominykas Milka (203-C-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked TU/Rock, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Tarvas (#7, 3-9) with 46-point margin 110-64.
