Gaz Metan Medias open Round 5 with the win over Tartu Rock in EuroChallenge. The Romanian team improved to 4-1 record on top and ensured the Last 16 birth with 81:58 win. Tartu Rock fell at 2-3 record in the group and will have their last chance in the last round.
Both teams scored 18 points in the first period and then the control of the game took the hosts. They won the second frame 20-13 and added 23-15 in the second period. Moreover they needed a 20-12 end in the last quarter to seal the victory. Aleksandar Mladenovic (207-F/C-84, agency: BeoExcell) closed the game for the total success of his team.
Ivan Ivanovic (205-F-80, agency: Beo Basket) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Aleksandar Mladenovic added 18. Slobodan Dundjerski (188-G-88, agency: Alti Sport) and Deven Mitchell (197-F-84, agency: Interperformances) delivered 15 points apiece. Justin Ingram (188-PG-85, agency: Two Points, college: Toledo) scored 14 in defeat and Ivan Nelyubov (207-C-88) posted 11.
