KML Round 10: TTU beats KK Parnu by one after a very close game - Dec 20, 2012

The most exciting game of round 10 in the KML took place in Tallinn. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked KK Parnu (4-7) to fourth ranked TTU (6-5) 75-74 on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 14 points at the halftime before their 28-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. TTU forced 22 KK Parnu turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by KK Parnu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Jaan Puidet (192-G/F-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Kiur Akenparg (190-88) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for KK Parnu. TTU have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Kalev/Cramo. KK Parnu at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. TTU is looking forward to face Rapla (#5) at home in the next round. KK Parnu will play against Valga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Rannar Raap chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Sander Saare (182-94) responded with 30 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Parnu maintains seventh position with 4-7 record. Hito/Johvi lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. KK Parnu will play against higher ranked Valga (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hito/Johvi will have a break next round.


Parnu - Hito/Johvi 81-73

The game between seventh ranked KK Parnu (4-7) and 9th ranked Hito/Johvi (1-11) in Parnu ended with biggest points difference. KK Parnu beat guests from Johvi 81-73. The game without a history. KK Parnu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KK Parnu forced 21 Hito/Johvi turnovers. Hito/Johvi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Rannar Raap (188-92) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Four KK Parnu players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Sander Saare (182-94) responded with 30 points and power forward Edvard Trumm (192-83) scored 6 points and 18 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Parnu maintains seventh position with 4-7 record. Hito/Johvi lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. KK Parnu will play against higher ranked Valga (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Rakvere Tarvas (Alexela KML) inked 28-year old international forward Timo Eichfuss (200-88). It is actually his comeback to BC Rakvere as he has played here before. Eichfuss has played for the last eight years at TU/Rock in the Alexela KML. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 17 Alexela KML games he averaged 6.6ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.2apg. Tadamon Zouk (Pepsi LBL) tabbed 25-year old American forward Maurice Kemp (203-91, college: E.Carolina, agency: Duran International). He played most recently at AVIS Rapla in Estonian Alexela KML. Kemp managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 18 Alexela KML games he was third best scorer with impressive 18.6ppg and recorded 8.9rpg (#4 in the league), 1.5apg, 1.4spg and 1.2bpg. Estonia - Albania 102:49 Estonia registered the first victory at the international friendly tournament in Tallinn. The hosts snapped two-game losing skid to fire past Albania.
