Puidet's 20 points and 6 rebounds give him Player of the Week award - Dec 21, 2012

Jaan Puidet
20-year old swingman Jaan Puidet (192-G/F-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for TTU and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had the game-high 20 points adding six rebounds and five assists for TTU in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Parnu (#7, 4-7) 75-74. TTU maintains the 4th position in Estonian league. TTU is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-5 record. In the team's last game Puidet had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at TTU and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Jaan Puidet averages this season 6.9ppg and 5.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Osvaldas Matulionis (200-F-91) of Parnu. He is Lithuanian forward in his first season at Parnu. In the last game Matulionis recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Parnu cruised to a 81-73 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Hito/Johvi (#9, 1-11). Parnu's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-7 record. Matulionis is a newcomer at Parnu and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.6ppg (#6). He also registered 5.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Sander Saare (182-PG-94) of Hito/Johvi (#9). Saare got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. Despite Saare's great performance Hito/Johvi lost 73-81 to slightly higher-ranked Parnu (#7, 4-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Hito/Johvi can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-11 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Saare he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Saare has individually a great season in Estonia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.7apg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Augustas Peciukevicius (192-G-91) of Parnu - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Rannar Raap (188-G/F-92) of Parnu - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Erik Keedus (198-F-90) of TTU - 13 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Kiur Akenparg (190-F-88) of TTU - 25 points and 2 rebounds
8. Augustas Peciukevicius (192-G-91) of Parnu - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Edvard Trumm (192-F/C-83) of Hito/Johvi - 6 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Kristjan Evart (190-G-90) of Parnu - 13 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
