We bring you last week's top performances from Estonians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Mirjam Nikolai (177-86, currently plays in Latvia). She led Eclex Tallinn to a victory over the closely-ranked Liepajas (11-5) 80-67 in the Latvian LSBL in Saturday night's game. Nikolai was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds. Nikolai also added 3 assists and 3 steals in 38 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Eclex Tallinn (14-2) is placed third in the LSBL. Nikolai has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 15.1ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.1apg, 2.1spg, 2FGP: 57.9%(73-126), 3FGP: 32.4% and FT: 80.8% in the 16 games she played so far. Nikolai is currently a member of the Estonian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (186-87, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai and both played together in the last Latvian LSBL game. Mesila-Kaarmann was the major contributor in a Eclex Tallinn's victory against the closely-ranked Liepajas (11-5) 80-67. She recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Mesila-Kaarmann has relatively good stats this season: 14.9ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.1apg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 53.5% and FT: 64.7%. She is in the roster of the Estonian senior national team.

The Estonian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international guard Marit Maaring (178-91, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. But that was another game of her team in Latvian LSBL which we would like to mention. Maaring contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-13) crushing them 86-42. She recorded 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals in 32 minutes. Eclex Tallinn (14-2) is placed third in the LSBL. This year Maaring's overall stats are: 7.6ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.8apg, 2.1spg, 2FGP: 43.5%, 3FGP: 32.5% and FT: 66.7% in the 16 games. She played for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #4. Power forward Annika Koster (185-92, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (above) in the other team. Koster contributed to a Eclex Tallinn's victory against the closely-ranked Liepajas (11-5) 80-67. She recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Koster belongs to league's best rebounders (ranked #4) and also on the list of most steals (third place). She has very reliable stats this season: 13.6ppg, 9.6rpg, 2.5apg and 3.0spg. Koster is also Estonian national team player.

   #5. Former international guard Heila Rosenfeldt (173-83, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Marit Maaring (above) in the other team. Rosenfeldt helped Eclex Tallinn win their game against the tenth-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-13) crushing them 86-42. She recorded 13 points and had 3 steals in a mere 16 minutes. Rosenfeldt is ranked fourth on the list of the best passers in the league with 3.5apg. This year she also averages: 9.5ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.7spg in the 14 games. Rosenfeldt used to play for the Estonian national team two years ago.

Swingman Merike Anderson (180-81, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Bulgaria) helped Dunav 8806 win their game against the closely-ranked Rilski Sportist (11-5) crushing them 76-49 in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. She scored 9 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Dunav 8806 Ruse (14-4) is placed second in the NBL. Anderson belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #9) and also on the list of best passers (fourth place). This season she has very good stats: 14.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 4.1apg and 1.8spg. Anderson is an international player who is currently on the senior Estonian National Team roster.

   #7. Former U20 international point guard Anastassia Ptitsona (168-91, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Annika Koster (above) in the other team. Ptitsona helped Eclex Tallinn win their game against the closely-ranked Liepajas (11-5) 80-67. She recorded 8 points, 3 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes. It's Ptitsona's fifth season with the team. This year Ptitsona's total stats are: 7.4ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.9apg and 2.4spg in the 16 games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #8. Forward Viive Kai Rebane (182-89, college: Binghamton, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help Neftochimic (17-1) to beat Haskovo 2012 (9-9). Rebane scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The league leader Neftochimic was defeated 84-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Haskovo 2012 (#3). They ended the series of seventeen consecutive victories. Rebane has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 4.7rpg. She plays currently for the Estonian national team.

Former U20 international swingman Greeta Uprus (177-94, currently plays in Latvia) helped Audentese SG/Noortekoondis win their game against the closely-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-13) crushing them 77-53 in the Latvian LSBL on Saturday night. Uprus recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 32 minutes. Audentese SG/Noortekoondis (7-10) is placed seventh in the LSBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Uprus has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg in the 15 games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #10. Guard Marta Suitslepp (174-95, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mirjam Nikolai. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Heila Rosenfeldt (above) in the other team. Suitslepp managed to help Eclex Tallinn in a victory against the tenth-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-13) crushing them 86-42. She recorded only 4 points in 13 minutes. This year Suitslepp averages just 1.3ppg in the nine games. She is U18 international player who is currently on the Estonian National Team roster.

   #11. U18 international forward Marie Roosalu (178-96, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Greeta Uprus and both played together in the last Latvian LSBL game. Roosalu helped Audentese SG/Noortekoondis win their game against the closely-ranked Kolibri/U-16 crushing them 77-53. She recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Roosalu has averaged so far 2.6ppg and 2.1rpg. She plays currently for the Estonian U18 national team.

   #12. U18 international point guard Kristi Tamp (173-95, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Greeta Uprus. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Marie Roosalu (above) in the other team. Tamp helped Audentese SG/Noortekoondis win their game against the closely-ranked Kolibri/U-16 crushing them 77-53. She recorded 6 points. Tamp has averaged so far 4.2ppg and 1.7rpg. She is also in the roster of the Estonian U18 national team.

   #13. Former U20 international forward Rosemary Rits (180-92, currently plays in Finland) helped Honka win their game against the closely-ranked Torpan Pojat 79-73 in the Finnish SM-sarja on Thursday night. Rits scored only 2 points in 13 minutes. Rits has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 3.0rpg in the five games. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international point guard Ellen-Anett Poldmaa (178-94, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Greeta Uprus. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Kristi Tamp (above) in the other team. Poldmaa helped Audentese SG/Noortekoondis win their game against the closely-ranked Kolibri/U-16 crushing them 77-53. She recorded only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Poldmaa has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 3.5rpg. She used to play for the Estonian U20 national team back in 2011.

   #15. U18 international forward Anett Nurm (183-96, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Greeta Uprus. She played also in the last Latvian LSBL game facing Ellen-Anett Poldmaa (above) in the other team. Nurm helped Audentese SG/Noortekoondis win their game against the closely-ranked Kolibri/U-16 crushing them 77-53. She recorded only 1 points. This season Nurm averages just 1.3ppg. She is also in the roster of the Estonian U18 national team.

Gregor recorded only 4 points and had 3 steals. Eclex Tallinn (14-2) is placed third in the LSBL. Gregor has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.2apg.

   #2. Paula Juurik (173-G-94, currently plays in Latvia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mariel Gregor and both played together in the last Latvian LSBL game. Juurik contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-13) crushing them 86-42. She recorded only 1 points in 16 minutes. Juurik has averaged so far 0.7ppg and 1.6rpg in the nine games she played so far.

   #3. Liisi Sokman (168-G-88, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German DBBL could not help Don Bosco Bamberg to beat TSV 1880 Wasserburg (14-2). Sokman cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. She recorded only 3 points in 8 minutes on the court. The league leader Don Bosco Bamberg lost 59-72 on the road to the leading TSV 1880 Wasserburg. It's Sokman's first season with the team. Sokman has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 1.1rpg in the 15 games.

NKL Round 6: Tahtvere loses their first game against VARS - 8 days ago

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Tahtvere (2-1) in Tallinn on Friday night. Visitors were edged by VARS (2-1) 60-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tahtvere. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 18-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game.
