Peciukevicius
Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-G-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Parnu, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Hito/Johvi (#9, 1-22) 83-73. Parnu maintains the 7th position in Estonian KML. Parnu is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-13 record. In the team's last game Peciukevicius had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Parnu's top player in his first season with the team. Augustas Peciukevicius averages this season 15.4ppg, 5.8rpg and 5.5apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old former international point guard Reimo Tamm (185-PG-84) of league's leader Tarvas. Tamm had a very good evening with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Of course he lead Tarvas to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Hito/Johvi (#9, 1-22) 101-73. Of course Tarvas still keep the league's top spot. His team has currently 19-6 record. Tamm is a newcomer at Tarvas, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.9ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 4.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Siim Laur (189-G-87) of Hito/Johvi (#9). Laur scored 23 points. Despite Laur's great performance Hito/Johvi lost 73-83 to slightly higher-ranked Parnu (#7, 9-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Hito/Johvi can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-22 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Laur he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Laur has a very solid season. In 18 games in Estonia he scored 13.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Edgars Cunda (195-G-84) of Valga - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Rain Raadik (208-C-89) of Parnu - 17 points and 12 rebounds
6. Raitis Grafs (208-C-81) of Valga - 15 points and 6 rebounds
7. A.J. Stewart (205-F-88) of Tarvas - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Rait-Riivo Laane (179-PG-93) of Rapla - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Ike Okoye (206-F-86) of Tln Kalev - 11 points and 15 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Readus is back at Luqueno, ex TLU/Kalev - 3 hours ago
Sportivo Luqueno (Metropolitan League) agreed terms with 25-year old American power forward Willie Readus (201-113kg-92, college: Delta State, agency: DTMones). It is actually his comeback to Luque as he has played here before. Readus played last season at TLU/Kalev in Estonian Alexela KML, but left the team in Feb.'17. In only one game he recorded 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Readus ended the previous (2016) season at Piratas (National League) in Ecuador. But the most of that ye...   [read more]
