Alexela KML round 12 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader TU/Rock (9-2) against third ranked Kalev/Cramo (9-2) 85-75 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of TU/Rock. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. American-Bulgarian power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Kalev/Cramo's coach Alar Varrak used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Janar Talts (206-83) replied with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for TU/Rock. Kalev/Cramo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with TU/Rock and Rapla. TU/Rock will play next round against BC Rakvere trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kalev/Cramo will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Noorteliiga. It will be extra interesting game as Noorteliiga is their local rival from Tallinn.
An interesting game for Rapla (9-2) which hosted in Rapla 4th ranked TTU (6-4). Second ranked Rapla managed to get a 10-point victory 101-91. Worth to mention a great performance of Dutch center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Rasham Suarez who added 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Sten Olmre (192-95) with 18 points and 8 rebounds. TTU's coach Rait Kabin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapla have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with TU/Rock and Kalev/Cramo. TTU at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Rapla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TTU will play on the road against Valga (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 12 Valga beat Parnu on the road 93-86. Tarvas lost to TLU/Kalev on its own court 70-80.
The most impressive performance of 12th round was 24 points by Saimon Sutt of Parnu.

Parnu - Valga 86-93

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Valga (5-8) beat on the road 5th ranked Parnu (6-6) 93-86. Parnu was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 55-44 second half run of Valga. They made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and Latvian guard Sandis Silavs (194-88) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Saimon Sutt (200-95) with 24 points and Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Valga maintains sixth position with 5-8 record. Parnu at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Valga will play against higher ranked TTU (#4) in Tallinn in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Parnu will play on the road against TLU/Kalev in Tallinn and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Tarvas - TLU/Kalev 70-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked BC Rakvere (3-8) lost at home to eighth ranked TLU/Kalev (2-9) 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by TLU/Kalev. BC Rakvere was better in third quarter 19-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Kristo Saage (186-85) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Martin Jurtom (200-94) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. TLU/Kalev maintains eighth position with 2-9 record. BC Rakvere lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. TLU/Kalev will play against higher ranked Parnu (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
