Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Estonians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international small forward Siim-Sander Vene (201-90, currently plays in VTB United League). He could not help BC Nizhny Novgorod (6-13) in their last game. Despite Vene's good performance BC Nizhny Novgorod was crushed 101-65 on the road by the leading CSKA. He scored 10 points and added 4 assists in 37 minutes on the court. Vene has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 57.1%(52-91), 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 77.8% in 19 games he played so far. He played for the Estonian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Denmark). Kitsing was the major contributor in Bakken's victory against the closely-ranked Naestved (12-14) 73-65 in the Danish Ligaen last Tuesday. He scored 15 points. Bakken Bears (21-4) is placed second in the Ligaen. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This season Kitsing has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 2FGP: 59.2%(58-98), 3FGP: 34.3% and FT: 88.5%. He is in the roster of the Estonian senior national team.

   #3. The Estonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88, currently plays in Sweden). Kurbas led Sodertalje Kings to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Nassjo (13-16) crushing them 93-72 in the Swedish Basketligan on Saturday night. He recorded 12 points and added 4 assists in 32 minutes. Sodertalje Kings (19-8) is placed third in the Basketligan. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Kurbas averages: 9.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 54.0%, 3FGP: 36.7% and FT: 78.4% in 26 games. He is also a member of the Estonian senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Jaan Puidet (191-92, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams KFUM Jamtland in their game against Uppsala Basket (17-10) in the Swedish Basketligan. Puidet scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. KFUM Jamtland was defeated 84-76 in Uppsala by the higher-ranked Basket (#4). There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Puidet's overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.4apg. He is also Estonian national team player.

Former University international forward Maik-Kalev Kotsar (208-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the S.Carolina (10-2) in their game against the The University of Mississippi (6-10) in the NCAA. Kotsar recorded 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 24 minutes. The S.Carolina lost 70-75 at home to the The of Mississippi. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. It's Kotsar's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 6.0ppg and 5.1rpg in 32 games. Kotsar used to play for the Estonian university national team two years ago.

   #6. Power forward Kregor Hermet (204-97, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Lleida Basquet (14-12) in their game against Gipuzkoa (18-8) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He scored 7 points. Lleida Basquet was defeated 71-65 in San Sebastian by the leading Gipuzkoa. Hermet's total stats this season are: 2.9ppg and 1.2rpg. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Estonian National Team roster.

   #7. International point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help Ethnikos (10-10) in their last game. Despite Laane's good performance Ethnikos was edged 70-69 on their home court in Piraeus by the second-ranked Iraklis. He scored 11 points, made 6 passes and 4 steals in 38 minutes. This year Laane's total stats are: 8.5ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.1apg and 1.5spg in 19 games. He is also Estonian national team player.

   #8. Center Rauno Nurger (208-93, currently studies in the States) managed to help Wichita State University to win against the Bradley University (7-11) crushing them 82-56 in the NCAA last Friday. Nurger scored 5 points. The Wichita State University has quite an impressive 17-1 conference record this season. It was Wichita St.'s third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Nurger has averaged so far 5.1ppg and 2.6rpg. He used to play for the Estonian national team back in 2015.

Rasham Suarez (190-G-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Rapla and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23. The 24-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Rapla in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Valga (#6, 8-17) 80-78. There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Alexela KML. Sixth-ranked Valga (8-17) made lots of trouble for third ranked Rapla (16-9) on Saturday. Rapla managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valga. Valga was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Rapla made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game....   [read more]
