Outlook:
one of the most respected and loved players by the Italian fans; came to Italy when he was 20, showing a skywalking kind of
game which could have easily allowed him to join NBA; but at beginning of nineties there wasn' t the current attention to the intenational basketball, and "Huguito" become an European leagues star; now that he is less athletic, he has improved his shooting and is a more team player, thanks to his smartness and his great know-how of the game; his experience and his hustle make him a good defender and a ball stealer; he can spend time in 2 and 3 positions, but prefers to play in the small forward spot;

Great 3-point shooter. Can be very dangerous at that position. He is fast and has great ball handling skills. He is not a great defender and does not help a lot in rebounding but he is a big weapon in offense. Has very good movements, is fast and can easily dribble his opponent. A DEADLY THREE POINT SHOOTER. COMING OFF THE PICKS HE CAN SHOOT WITH A FAST RELEASE. CAN FIT IN A HIGH LEVEL TEAM AS A SPECIALIST SHOOTER. HIS WEAKNESS MAY BE HIS DEFENCE.

Outlook:
Very versatile player. Can do everything, shooting from 5-6 metres, penetrating, dunking or his best play: dribbling and scoring in front of his opponent. True power player that can rebound when he wants to, use his strength to get position and score not only by his moves, but by his strength. Not bad of an athlete either and has the ability to run the floor. Doesn't have great range, but he does shoot it a little way from the basket.

UPSET WIN OVER USA
After taking Argentina to an upset win over the USA at the 2002 World Championships, he said, "I am impressed with the conviction the team had of not losing the battle before starting. Our conviction outweighed anything that was technical or tactical."
Using a physical, punishing defence and a slashing offense, Argentina outran the USA at both ends of the court and inflicted its first ever defeat in international competition while using NBA players.
