The awards are announced before the Final Four games. Of course there could be some extraordinary performance of some players in the final games, which may effect this awards.
But we intentionally did not want the Final Four games to influence those awards.
This year awards were dominated by import players. Surprisingly the top import players were also outside of the U.S.
Top two guards were Luis Flores from Dominican Rep. and Michael Hicks originally from Panama. Best center is Uchenna Nsonwu who comes from Nigeria.

Goettingen win EuroChallenge tournament - May 2, 2010 

3rd Place Roanne - Scavolini PS 86-80
Roanne occupied the third overall position at the EuroChallenge. They held off Scavolini Spar Pesaro in the consolation final tonight. Dylan Page (204-F-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) scored 20 points to lead the effort for the French outfit. Roanne led early in the encounter but not for too long. Michael Hicks and Branko Cvetkovic (200-G/F-84, agency: Beo Basket) triggered a 10:0 run that put the Italian team up by 8 points 21:13. Scavolini maintained the advantage as they sealed the first quarter outcome at 27:20 lead. Scavolini ensured a 9-point advantage midway through the second quarter. Scavolini stayed ahead as they headed into the dressing room up by 9 points 52:43. Roanne struggled to deny the deficit in the third stanza. Scavolini still led by 9 points with just over 4 minutes to go in the frame. Tomassini stretched the gap to 10 points before the French team went on a comeback rally. Noel, Dylan Page and Dia organized a 12:0 run that put Roanne ahead by 2 points 67:65 with ten minutes remaining. Nick Lewis (207-F/C-83, agency: Elfus-Siegel Management (ESM), college: San Diego) and Dylan Page came up with back-to-back three-pointers early in the fourth quarter as Roanne accumulated a 76:69 advantage. Mouloukou Diabate (180-G-87) and Nick Lewis ensured an 8-point buffer for the French team with under three minutes remaining. Roanne did not look back in the remaining minutes and posted the win. Nick Lewis knocked down 16 points for Roanne. Mouloukou Diabate delivered 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. Michael Hicks came up with 27 points for Scavolini. Eric Williams (206-C-84, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest) and Branko Cvetkovic netted 11 points apiece in the losing case.

Final Goettingen - Krasnie Krilya 83-75
Goettingen claimed the 2010 EuroChallenge title. The German team supported by the home fans defeated Krasnye Krylia for the crown. Christopher McNaughton (211-C-82, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Bucknell) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds to pace the hosts. Taylor Rochestie (185-G-85, college: Washington St.) set things rolling at the start of the game. Ernest Bremer (196-G-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: St.Bonaventure) responded from beyond the arc but Goettingen accounted for the next 6 points to take back the lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the reminder of the frame before Biggs capped it with a three-pointer drawing things level at 17. The lead changed hands for several times early in the second term. Ben Jacobson (188-G-83, college: N.Iowa) and Taylor Rochestie finally dropped 4 points in a row to ensure a 34:28 advantage for the home team at halftime. Boone and Oliver kept Goettingen in charge early in the third period. Christopher McNaughton and Ben Jacobson gave the German side a 48:39 lead with just over three minutes to go in the frame. Krasnye Krylia could not get any closer as Goettingen enjoyed a 57:45 lead at the final break. Christopher McNaughton and Ben Jacobson continued to deliver regularly as the hosts stayed in front. The lead reached a 15-point mark as Goettingen dominated in the final stanza. Krasnye Krylia managed to cut the deficit to 7 points but got no closer losing the championship clash. Ben Jacobson delivered 17 points for Goettingen. Taylor Rochestie added 14 points and 6 assists in the victory. Luis Flores (188-G-81, college: Manhattan) answered with 22 points for Krasnye Krylia. Valdas Vasylius (203-F-83, college: ODU) and Ernest Bremer had 11 points apiece in the loss.



Rochestie Wins EuroChallenge MVP - May 2, 2010 

Taylor Rochestie (185-G-85, college: Washington St.) was named MVP of EuroChallenge 2010 after leading his team to a historic first European trophy with a stunning 41 points across Final Four weekend.
The Californian playmaker who has already been named Best Newcomer in the BBL was the main catalyst for his teams victory with 27 points in the semi-final against Roanne and 14 against Krasnye Krylia in the Final.
Rochestie just pipped team-mate Chris McNaughton to the award who had a near perfect night in the Final scoring 8 of 9 inside and a flawless 6 of 6 from the free-throw line for a game high 22 points.
