FIBA Europe were glad to inform last night from Munich that 38 teams were devided into two regions and drawn into ten groups of three teams and two groups of four teams. The winner and the runner up from each group plus the eight best from the teams placed third will qualify to the Sixteenth-Finals. Last year's EuroCup Women champion, Sony Athinaikos confirmed EuroCup participation. She appeared 11 times in Euroleague last season averaging 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists. In domestic championship Yigit added 5.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg and 3.4 apg for 28 games. Before Galatasaray, Nilay Yigit spent one season with Pankup Ted Kayseri Kolejispor. She is not a new face in Besiktas as she already was their member on season 2007/08. From 2004 to 2007 Yigit played for Fenerbahce. Nilay Yigit is a five-time All-Star player in Turkey. She won the TBBL title in 2005, 2006 and 2007 (all with Fenerbahce). She also was the Turkish Cup winner in 2006, 2007 and this year as well. Nilay Yigit is active member of Turkish National Team since 2005. Last summer he played 9 games at the EuroBasket in Latvia averaging 1.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1 assists.

FIBA Europe announced today the participating teams for the upcoming EuroCup Women 2010-11 season.
Thirty eight European clubs have entered the competition which is scheduled to tip off on 28th October.
The draw for the new season will take place in Munich, on 3rd July.
All participating clubs will enter the Regular Season directly and will be divided into 10 groups of three teams each and two groups of four teams each [read more]
